The experience as enhanced by our stay at the Hotel SS Kekezi a unique family run hotel full of character and a fantastic breakfast. The owner was so helpful. Castle was big, but we liked Berat's better.
Castle was big, but we liked Berat's better. Hills are brutal to climb. Cars going in opposite directions on the same street are often a problem. If you are not on the main streets, gps will tell you to make near impossible turns. Very nice, clean city.

The old town has a very pleasant atmosphere, the nearby mountains are a good place for tourism and relaxation. Drivers in the city drive without following traffic rules and often do not give you the right of way at roundabouts- be careful!Guest review byKIRILBulgaria

The host here is simply amazing — warm, friendly, and genuinely caring. The room may be small, but it’s perfectly cozy, beautifully decorated, and full of charm. Breakfast was delicious, the view breathtaking, and the location couldn’t be better. If you’re visiting Gjirokastër, you won’t find a friendlier or more welcoming team than at Hotel SS Kekezi. The hotel has the most ideal location for exploring Gjirokaster. The owner and the staff were very lovely and hospitable. We felt at home right away. Tatjana, the owner even gave my mother a beautiful gift at the end of our stay and also gave us free water for our onward journey.
