Tirana is a fabulous place to visit and 7 days was not enough to see everywhere. The city is busy and bustling and there is loads to do within walking distance. The mountains and lush greenery are surrounding you ,the tree lined streets offer shade on busy streets.It's a busy city, but still there is greenery everywhere and the smell of Jasmine. It was easy to walk around Tirana from where we stayed, and in general is an easy to walk around city. The food at traditional restaurants is good but travelers should be aware that some restaurants are cash only. There are plenty of money changers and it is worth shopping around as rates vary. If arriving by bus, we arrived at the north/south station which is some way out of the city be aware the taxis drivers will quote a price rather than use their meter. Locals were so friendly, everywhere felt safe and it was so cheap to eat and drink away from the expensive tourist bars. So pretty to walk around, the mountain is a day trip with walks, golf and restaurants and the lake park is perfect for an easy cycle around it. Very helpful and approachable people on reception - a brother and sister working together, we had a nice talk and they even advised me where I can enjoy a traditional Albanian food and because I told them I want to go to the sea for one day only, where should I catch the bus for the seaside as well :).
