Exceptional property and family ownership... people just lovely and wonderful. Our third visit and we'll be back again. Our three generations family loved the amenities, modern facilities, the moss walls in the baths, farm setting and animals, the restaurant and the bar staff were wonderful and welcoming... amenities and breakfast were absolutely lovely! Loved meeting the Oma again!

The location is amazing!!! Bad Vigaun is an amazing place to stay in and have a great morning walk/jog or workout. The view from the room is breathtaking, you won't want to leave. The hotel design is unique, very elegant and luxurious. We stayed at the junior suite, it is big, has a great balcony to sit in and just enjoy the view. The staff a so helpful and welcoming. I like the close parking spaces just to go through the check-in process, though the regular parking lot is a few steps from the reception. Highly recommended!!

I think I could fairly call Gasthof Schorn a hidden gem. In 2021 we had multiple flight cancellations & re-books, the last re-book was on short notice so everything was sold out in Berchtesgaden. I found this hotel only 12 miles away. It fit the criteria & would have to do. Surprise, it was the best thing to happen. So much so that we made it a destination in 2022 for 2 nights. A bit remote but worth it. The view from balcony breathtaking. Reasonably convenient to Salzburg & Berchtesgaden (by car), and away from the hustle. Absolutely beautiful rooms with lots of woods & quality, actually comfortable furniture. Fridge in our room. No air conditioning. Has elevator. Large rooms. Abundant free parking. Excellent traditional breakfast, nothing lacking, with very good coffee. It is part buffet & part table service (for coffee & anything else you need). Beautiful outdoor seating area. It has a genuine touch of class - white tablecloths, etc. We were 3 weeks this trip in Germany/Austria, involving 17 hotels, and I would rate this as one of the 3 best. That says a lot since I always look for the best hotels. (the memory will be there long after the price is forgotten). If you're on a budget this hotel is also reasonably priced for the area with included breakfast & parking.

    Nice old town to walk around. Have some nice restaurants like the Indian restaura, Namaste. Very authentic Indian food with good service and atmosphere. Another restaurant is Genusskramerei. This restaurant has a small but exclusive menu. Upmarket.

    A must-see for those interested in Celts and Mining.

    A must-see for those interested in Celts and Mining. The "Salzbergwerk Dürrnberg" is much much more interesting, than the overfamous "Salzbergwerk Hallstatt". Celtic Museum in Hallein ist really of value. The town itself has a very limited number of places to dine. Decent train connection to Salzburg, savin You a lot of money and a most boring view of Salzburg after 5 p.m.

    The hotel was very good, the staff, especially one of the receptionist, was exceptionally helpful with sorting me out for skiing and a spa excursion. The breakfast included, plus meals in the restaurant were excellent and once again the staff were very attentive, though the hotel was a little isolated, the public transport was very near and easy to use

    The hotel was located in the heart of the town. It was really magnificent. The room was fabtastic, very beautiful, clean, quiet, spacious. It was a really nice place to return to. There was no staff, but the online directions were very analytic and wasy to follow.
