This is the most exceptional hotel we have stayed in in our 40 years of traveling. The decor is beautiful, inviting , and thoughtful. The breakfast buffet is fantastic and so well presented plus you are asked about having any type of egg dish desired. The entire hotel is spotless and we had a coffee maker with pods in our room that I had requested in advance. The MAIN thing that sets this hotel apart from all others is the STAFF in every department . Special thanks to Miriam, Viktoria, Anjelica, Eni, Andrea, and Lora for their geniune kindess and caring. I hope I did not leave anyone out by name. Thank you.

The staff were helpful and the place is well kept and very clean. Breakfast was always fresh with plenty of options. Just ask for a boiled egg and it arrives withing minutes while you make toast. I would stay here again because of the price, the host, the breakfast, and the fairly central location.

FAQs about hotels in Salzburg

The Hills Are Alive in Salzburg

Made famous for its “hills alive with the sound of music”, Salzburg is a very pretty town filled with romantic buildings and squares. If you are not yet aware that Mozart was born here, then you will be as soon as you land at Salzburg W.A. Mozart International Airport.

Further your education about this musical prodigy at his actual birthplace, Mozarts Geburtshaus. The city is the namesake of the Salzach River which runs through it, and alongside this beautiful river lays the Schloss Mirabell, one of the many impressive castles within the city limits. Schloss Mirabell and Hellbrunn with their picturesque gardens, beautiful galleries and impressive halls make the ideal spot for a picnic during summer.

The white-stone Hohensalzburg fortress is perched upon a green hill and offers magnificent views over the city. Or, you can escape it all in the Kapuzinerberg forest, which offers splendid Alpine vistas- a reminder of Salzburg’s natural beauty.

The shopping centre focuses around Alter Markt Square and Getreidegasse, the latter is a quirky street with old-fashioned signs indicating what each store sells. With 125 hotels and guesthouses available on Booking.com, your stay in Salzburg is bound to be as pleasant as this city is pretty.

What Guests Said About Salzburg:

    I loved Salzburg.

I loved Salzburg. Had planned a full-day round trip from Vienna and the OBB train station agent asked me if I want my return open.I said ok. So thankful for that suggestion/question. I got there around 4pm and right away started searching for a hotel. The city centre across the river is where I spent my 1.5 days (except for the apartment hotel in Anif at night) I didn’t book a guide and only followed the tourist crowd. Loved the hill-top view, Mozart museum, street cafe and the view everywhere. I was lucky that the rain had just stopped the day of my trip. would’ve loved the Eagle Nest and Sound of Music tour but no time for them.

An amazing city with so much culture, touristic attractions and museums. The river cruises, guided tours, walking trails and being at the foothills of the Alps makes Salzburg an amazing and colourful city to visit at any time of the year.

Beautiful city. Mix of history and natural beauty. Untersberg and Gaisberg a must visit. Trick fountains were really tricky. Beautiful Mirabelle gardens. Natural beauty on way to Halstatt. Fortress, the Lift and Alstadt completed our perfect stay. Easy to get around. Salzburg card was a great way to travel and visit places. Cold beer, frozen yogurt at Fabios, Sachertorte - all a must try

Check-in was very easy and time-saving.

Check-in was very easy and time-saving. There was no need to wait in line, simply used the machine, entered my surname and booking number, and everything was done. Honestly, I enjoyed that there was no receptionist; it felt like home just enter the code and walk into the room. One thing I didn’t like was that the sink was not inside the bathroom but in the room itself, right next to the bed. While I appreciate IBIS for being small but well-equipped, this setup did not look good. The hotel is not very close to the airport if you plan to stay here for a late-night flight, keep in mind that it’s about a 20-minute walk to the terminal.

This was a superb hotel. Great value, the facilities were excellent Staff were all helpful and friendly, evening arranging a birthday breakfast for my partner. Location was a 10 minute walk from the main old town which is across the river. This area is still historic however with lots of shops - my partner was delighted our room overlooked the grave of Mozart's father and wife! All in all we had a great time in Salzburg and a lot of this was down to the hotel. Overall highly recommended.

A great location for exploring Salzburg. A little on the expensive side, but that’s Salzburg and it’s worth paying more to be close to the old town. Getting bags too and from the place was a bit tricky as we arrived out of hours and had instructions on parking but not on how you can get to the hotel which is in a pedestrian regulated zone behind barriers. Only a small issue. The daily coffee and croissant was a nice touch and the family room was perfect for adults with kids

Beautiful boutique room. Luxury with a boho style. Close to all the sights we wanted to see on Rick Steves Audio Tour. In the heart of old town shopping district if that's your thing. Octoberfest carnival (also in old town) was also occurring during our visit and it was a blast.
