Loved walking the Parish Trail (Pfarrerbichl) with scenic views of the town and lake (and religious interest if so inclined). Nanni’s had a delicious goulash & apple strudel; Cafe Nouveau had a spicier goulash, even better! Batzenhäus had great local food. Have been is Seefeld 3 times until now, twice in winter and once is summer. Excellent place for vacation or short stay. Hotels and facilities are modern, mainly built in 1960's for Innsbruck Olympics. Seefeld has cross-country skiing and big warm open pool if compare to other surrounding resorts. A full range of Alpine experience, from hiking to train rides through the countryside. Built on a plateau, everywhere is within easy walking distance, and there are e-bikes to rent for a day. Village and mountan hostelries offer a wide range of eating experience and plenty of opportunity to enjoy traditional Austrian dishes, including an exquisite Applestrudel. The village is steeped in history, yet maintains a modern feel in shops. Most of the village centre is pedestrianised, offering stress-free ambles while samping the village ambience. During a 4-day stay, we were treated to a public rendition from a brass band, and wandered the Tuesday morning market full of local fare. Great location for scenery, great drives and taking the train to Innsbruck. Unknown to us, many resteruants, cafés and hotels were closed as our visit in the second day week of April was the end of the high season so places were shut till May or June. The fact that we have been visiting Seefeld in Tirol for nearly thirty years now pretty much sums it up! Summer or winter it is always good and a very special place to be. It's very easy to get around Seefeld. There are good pedestrian areas, good shops, many cafe's and restaurants which are all excellent. The swimming pool/sports complex is amazing. The sports facilities are second to none - everything is covered, summer or winter. Seefeld is a great place for a family holiday, for a couples holiday, a romantic getaway or just somewhere to go to appreciate nature. The infrastructure is good and well thought through. My only concern would be that like everywhere there seems to be more building work than is necessary which may end up with Seefeld losing its charm and the reason why everyone loves visitng it.Guest review byChristinaUnited Kingdom
