The fact that it was situated in the suburbs meant a very quite and peaceful stay. The hostess was very welcoming and the facilities were above and beyond my expectation. Alstonville itself is a charming little village above Ballina. Great coffee shops and restaurants, all reasonably priced. People friendly and lots to see within short driving distance. Accommodation: Tiny is the operative word. Nice kitchen and bathroom, but nowhere to hang clothes or put suitcases. The tiny house accommodation was perfect, it had everything that you will need for a stay , washing machine, also included. The host even had a camping chair for me to use ( upon my request) as I was at a baseball tournament in Lismore . Alstonville is a very pretty country town with friendly people and a great atmosphere. Some nice shops and a couple of good coffee places which serve a good breakfast, We prefer to stay here rather than Lismore which is only about twenty minutes away. We had been on the road for four days staying in pet friendly accommodation and were so disappointed with the presentation until we got to Alstonville.
