American river is quiet and has interesting history and...
American river is quiet and has interesting history and little walks. With driving after 6pm not recommended it is rather good that the restaurant is excellent. (some hire car companies offer NO INSURANCE COVERAGE if vehicles are driven after 6pm - because of likelihood of wildlife strike).Guest review bySharonAustralia - 8.0

It's a peaceful place and cool to see pelicans, black swans and the rare glossy black cockatoos. However, there isn't really a swimming beach so it is maybe more for fishing trips than beach-goers. Staying in the hotel means you are limited to eating out and there are few options (the hotel is excellent but expensive) - 2 nights here was great but we were happy to move on where we had more options of activities and food for the rest of our trip.Guest review byLucyAustralia

They loved this space especially, as the internet is fast and the TV set is of good quality. I loved the kitchen and appliances and enjoyed cooking. It is a stunning location. Our US friends who stayed with us escaped to the hotel, as they found this place too cold. The heating is only in the living room. We still enjoyed it, as we prefer to sleep in cool rooms. Rooms are spacious and overlook the water, you are surrounded by nature. Around the accommodation there are a couple of trails you can walk along, and a couple of really good hotels. The owner was extremely cordial and even helped us look for the koala which is usually around the hotel. Highly recommend this stay for any relax!Guest review byValentinaItaly
