SingaporeStayed in a King Room for a night in Nov. It’s within walking distance to the main sights and eateries in Ararat (not a big city anyway). The rooms were clean and spacious, with practical facilities (functional and not elaborate). The bed was big enough to fit two adults and two kids. The owner was also nice and friendly, giving us recommendations on where to visit and eat. I’ll consider staying here again when I visit the next time.

The owner arranged everything at very short notice late at night as many of the family members had travelled from various locations within both Victoria and NSW.
Nothing was any trouble and the owners communication was prompt, polite and very compassionate towards our circumstances.
This morning I met the cleaning staff and again nothing was any trouble and they were very polite, considerate and compassionate towards me in relation to our circumstances.

AustraliaWe stayed here on a Saturday night because we were doing one of the local ghost tours in town. They were currently in the middle of a renovation when we stayed, but that didn’t bother us. We were in a newly renovated room and it was really good. Nicely done, great bathroom, good amenities and the service was good too. The location is great because it’s a two minute walk from the main street with good local shops and restaurants. I would recommend staying here if you need somewhere in Ararat.

United KingdomLovely setting - enjoyed being next to the fields with the alpacas. Lots of wildlife, good bird watching. Nice view over mountains at sunset. Good location 30 mins from Halls Gap.
Very clean and well-maintained.
Comfortable bed.
Well provisioned kitchen. Tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and cereal were a lovely bonus.

Ararat is a lovely town in itself and has everything you need, town hall, art gallery, many shops, antiques, eating places, gift shops, swimming pool, indoor and out, recreation, park, drives up to Halls Gap and tourist attractions areas. Personally went to Ararat for ghost hunting at Aradale asylum and found myself quite happy with the other facilities, the town is quite cute with not too heavy traffic at most points of the day with good historical sightseeing and nature views!Guest review byJadeAustralia - 10.0

It was a good a good base for two nights (we booked an extra night) because it is easy drive to Halls Gap to walk in the Grampians and also tour around the area. Local interesting history, being the JWard prison and Ararat Lunatic Asylum - both worth a visit. Town centre has ample cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes, and shopping to suit all interests. Easy to walk around the town, restaurants within easy walk. The Alexandra Gardens were beautiful to wander around and with a cafe as well. The Chinese heritage building was worth a visit with kids, they tried gold panning, dressed up and wrote their names in calligraphy while learning a little bit about the history of the town.
