Newly renovated, beautiful gardens, plenty of parking and also hotel only parking beyond a boom gate. Across the Carpark is a decent sized shopping centre, easy access to everything you may need. Rooms were modern and very clean. Staff were very nice. The attached restaurant was very cool, definitely enjoy your free drink there.

Sun-Drenched and Leafy

At the meeting point of Australia’s Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, laidback Brisbane is spread around the meandering river running through it. The river’s arty South Bank is home to Australia’s largest modern art gallery, tranquil gardens and an artificial beach. Just opposite is the towering skyline of Brisbane's CBD, where many hotels in Brisbane city centre are located.

Nearby are the botanic gardens and Queen Street Mall, the most popular Brisbane shopping spot. More shopping centres are found all over the city, and the out-of-town malls include one in the Indooroopilly suburb by the foothills of Mount Coot-tha.

This green hill offers fabulous city views and has a planetarium, nature reserve and yet more botanic gardens. In Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary to the south you can hug one of the loveable animals, while Australia Zoo – Steve Irwin’s legacy – is a good day trip.

Brisbane is a very leafy city and one of its parks – Wickham Park – contains the Old Windmill, Brisbane’s oldest building. To the north-east, the Fortitude Valley suburb is known for its vibrant music scene and Chinatown. Across the river in Woolloongabba is The Gabba or Brisbane Cricket Ground, and nearby is the bohemian West End district.

As well as central accommodation, Booking.com also offers hotels near Brisbane Airport in a north-eastern coastal suburb.

Walkable city, albeit great transport options with metro, busses and ferries. QPAC great for entertainment/shows. Southbank and city vibrant lighting at night, connected by good bridges great for pedestrians.

I have had quite a few getaways to Brisbane from the Gold Coast for various reasons. I have always enjoyed my time there whether it was a musical at Qpac lyric theatre or just enjoying the facilities around Southbank, pushbike riding around the riverfront, scooter riding around kangaroo point, the markets in the botanic Gardens. Getting there by train is so easy and being able to walk to accommodation. Even walking across the bridges to the CBD for events. I even did the story Bridge walk with my daughter one time. There is so much to do and I can’t wait for my next adventure there.

I was amazed at all the infrastructure along the river.

I was amazed at all the infrastructure along the river. The City Cat (and City Dog, especially Bluey!!) were a fantastic mode of transport. Very inexpensive to use any public transport. Just 50cents a ride - tap on and tap off with your credit card. Very easy to get to South Bank, either on the City Cat or just take a relaxing walk across the foot bridge in front of Star Grand Hotel. It also takes you to the giant-sized Ferris wheel. Lovely in the evening with all the lights. Lots of restaurants on South Bank. Lovely area for swimming on South Bank for young families to enjoy. Amazing view from the top level of the Star Grand Hotel. Short walk to Queen Street Mall from my accommodation at the Star Grand.

lovely place, good public transportation option, recommend taking the ferry uo and down the river, just 50 cents for over 50 min sailing. great riverside walks, full of gardens and eateries, in particular South side. Highly recommend Old Comissariat House museum, where you can learn from very good docents all about the early years of this the penal colony,

The Public Transport is Excellent, City is very modern and easy to get around. very safe and police is always hanging around. my only negative is the food in Brisbane city is terrible, i guess you might get better food in the suburbs.

Public transport was excellent and very cheap.

Public transport was excellent and very cheap. The river City Cat ferry was a good experience. Food was ok. Feels overcrowded in the city. There isn't that much to do, but you can get to other places close by, like Moreton Bay Island. Shopping is awful and expensive. Museums and Streets Beach great for the kids. Even buying food to prepare in our airbnb was very expensive. Streets Beach was great and free as were a lot of the museums. You can get places easily and quickly with public transport in the city, but Toowong Village is nothing, Queen Street Mall is ok, there is little culture/history in the city. Issues with homeless tents in parks.

The suite was spacious & had great views of the city, Brisbane river & Southbank. The hotel is in close proximity to the Roma Street station which was perfect for us as we arrived & left via train. The hotel is also within easy walking distance of the city & Southbank. The staff at the hotel were friendly & efficient. When we requested additional items they were delivered to the room promptly. The suite was well appointed & had a great shower- nice & hot!

The proximity to Roma Street station is the main reason for choosing this hotel. Also close to CBD. The 'room' is actually a suite! Great views across the city. The bed was comfortable. The convenience to Brisbane is excellent.

The Royal Albert is located right in the middle of the Brisbane CBD. This is great for shopping, dining and shows. It is a heritage hotel that has very large rooms and everything you need for a stay in the city.
