Great coffee and food at local cafes and staff very friendly. Great meal at George's restaurant at Osborn House. Lovely lunch and visit to Bendoorly Wine Estate at Berrima only 25 mins drive. Great views in the national Park just down the road from our hotel. Great base for bushwalks.
Great base for bushwalks. Fitzroy Falls and the Western Rim Walk were spectacular. Loved the Glow Worm walk - but it was too cold to see many Glow Worms as they die off in winter. We will come back in summer. Bundanoon Village very cute and welcoming. Lots of interesting shops, especially the wool store. This place is truly inviting—there's so much to enjoy: billiards, board games, reading nooks... it makes you want to settle in and stay. That’s why it feels like a bit of a missed opportunity not to offer a simple dinner menu, especially on your first night. The idea of having to leave the comfort of such a lovely setting just to find food elsewhere was a bit disappointing. Only breakfast is served, which is a bit of a shame. The second point: if you happen to come toward the end of the breakfast service, you might feel slightly rushed—as if the vacuum cleaner is revving up just behind you! It was Easter holidays, and the last thing I wanted was to feel hurried during a relaxed, late breakfast after our first night. Lastly, I’m on a new diet protocol and completely forgot to request gluten- and dairy-free options ahead of time. I made a few hiccups in my order the first morning, which I corrected the next day. The host was very attentive—which I truly appreciated—but she repeated my original order quite loudly, thinking she had misunderstood me, and I ended up feeling rather awkward and guilty. Loved the whole 2 days there we could have stayed a few more days! Tim and Lucy was always helpful and went the extra mile even having a home cooked cake left next to the coffee and tea facilities for weary travellers to have afternoon tea after there journey! The highlights were the combustion fireplace, amazing kitchen, lovely bathroom with underfloor heating and the outside fire pit. Very close walk to the shops in Bundanoon- cafes and particularly the butchers- we bought a lovely leg of lamb from. Very relaxing atmosphere - a bit like a ski lodge. The property also had a separate TV lounge and a cosy dining room. We had access to the full kitchen too, which was very useful when 6 of us went to watch the rugby with drinks and snacks. After Bundanoon, we drove down to Bundanon (Arthur Boyd art gallery).
