Small island with limited numbers allowed.

Small island with limited numbers allowed. Good for relaxing few days. Family friendly. Weather was perfect. Restaurant food to a high standard. Buffet dinner not good. Gym needs aircon. Southern end of island not renovated after cyclone. In saying that the other pool areas seemed sufficient.

    Only stay 1 night!

Only stay 1 night! You’ll want to leave after one night unless you like having absolutely nothing to do!! The kangaroos all over the island were super friendly and made the trip enjoyable. The resort itself felt like you’d gone back in time 20years. Staff were slow and everything took much longer than you’d hope. The grounds in some areas needed a lot of love / some of the lounge chairs near the pool were placed in dirt and were in direct sun, with no shade. It just felt run down and lacking. The pool itself was quite nice. I would only recommend a one night stay as there isn’t much going on. Negatives $30 for two small servings of takeaway chips $5 for a Mars bar from the Lolly shop that was stale 2x Ping pong tables but only one ping pong ball! Volleyball court but no ball Lounge chairs in dirt and in direct sun Cruise Whitsundays ferry transfer unreliable- they prioritise reef guests and if they have no capacity, you have to wait for next service. Some services are cancelled on you without you knowing. We had to wait two ferries before actually leaving the island, which was very frustrating!! Lack of options for dining

not much , would not recommend unless there is no where else to go ! when you take into account the total costs of travel , food and accommodation its better to travel to a resort in Thailand, Malaysia or Vietnam !

Pool facilities are nice; swim up bar, number of pools, lounges, easy to access from around the facilities. Restaurants were lovely and the food, was fabulous. Snorkelling, paddle-boarding and kayaking were free and good fun with kids who want a little more than lying around the pool. Other tours and activities were available, but at cost. The underwater observation facilities were a lovely extra too and the kids enjoyed these, revisiting them a number of times during our stay. Facilities are nice, but not quite what we were expecting. In its heyday, I imagine Daydream Island would have been spectacular, but it is in need of some renovating and updating. One end of the island has pool facilities that were currently not being utilised due to damage incurred from cyclone in years past, which was a shame. That end of the island was beautiful and hosts activities such as paddleboarding and kayaking. Rooms were standard hotel rooms and clean.

The resort back in its day would have been fantastic.

The resort back in its day would have been fantastic. I reckon. As it is now, it needs a lot of help, Facilities are rundown, the pool on the backside of the island needs help, the tennis court/s need relevelling. As a family of 6 we were averaging between the 2 restaurants $320 per meal twice a day. Food upstairs was great, downstairs was average. Salti offered spray water bottles , so you could spray the local Bush Stone Curlews in an attemp to keep them away from your table!! The rooms were terrible, worst I have ever been in. We put it on par with a motel we stayed in one night in Dubbo that cost us $80. The only difference was the one in Dubbo didnt have mould in the bathroom. Breakfast at the resort was shared with Curlews, Crows and Sparrows, with the birds stealing food off the tables and from the Servery, it was disgusting!! Never again!!

Surrounded by azure waters, Day Dream Island Hotel greeted us with warmth and hospitality. Little did we know, the true surprise lay in the unparalleled friendliness of the staff, who eagerly assisted with every aspect of our stay from the moment we booked. From organizing activities to seamless transfers, their proactive approach ensured a stress-free experience. The Reef Rangers program/activity immersed us in the wonders of the marine world, while the array of water sports on offer at the other side of the island exhilarated our senses. With each moment, Day Dream Island Hotel revealed itself as a hidden gem, surpassing our every expectation. Wished for more gluten free and dairy free options.

Not a lot to like on Daydream Island!! Upstairs restaurant was great, food really good. The main pool looked great, the swim up bar also looked great. Saw a snake on far side of the island, that was cool. Played tennis and Volleyball on very run down courts. kids enjoyed that. Thats about it.

The location was great. Daydream island has like sections of the island divided on to activities. You can swim in the pools in the northern end, or try snorkelling in Lover's Cove on the west side of the island. You can book tours from the tour desk, like fish feeding and kayaking.

The location and the aquarium. That was literally it. It has so much potential but disappointed so frequently. Would not go back. I have travelled and stay at a variety of different hotels across Australia, mostly for work and this was by far the worst experience I’ve had.
