Surfers Paradise has changed a lot since I was there 20 years ago. There is a better variety of cuisine and things to do. The light rail is absolutely fantastic and makes getting around so easy. Once the next stage is finished in 2026, it will make getting around the Gold Coast amazingly simple, you wont need a car when you are there. I had a great time, the shopping at Pacific Fair rivaled Melbourne (can you believe it!!?), the beaches were gorgeous and the food offerings were varied and delicious.Guest review byFionaAustralia - 10.0

Found many of the small eateries in Surfers, wanting. Such as an Italian themed restaurant without coffee. A Vietnamese restaurant with food that was very mediocre and others that didn’t seem to know what customer service is. I can’t say this is true of the upmarket venues, but those referred to above were not the worst options. Driving is a nightmare due to tramway construction and narrow roads. The units and high apartment buildings are a bit tired. If driving, when planning your journey be familiar with toll roads. Get out of the commercialism of the gold coast - we preferred Noosa to Gold Coast. There was more of a sense of fun there. We loved driving into the beautiful countryside - there are many cute country town within a couple of hours of the Gold Coast. The public transport system and cost is just amazing. It made all the difference to our family holiday and the kids enjoyed it. Gold Coast is just beautiful. Theme Parks so easily accessible and the unlimited tickets are value for money. Sea World and Dreamworld our two most favorite. So many delicious food places.Guest review byRafferty
