Hamilton Island is a family resort, and you instantly relax getting off the plane. Transport is a golf cart which is fun in itself. Loads of pools to cover no water at the beach on low tide. Great selection of restaurants but book early. Lots of excursions off the island which are pricey. Scenery is unique and stunning. cockatoos are friendly and wallabies all over the place are cute. The island was easy to get around but is expensive to hire a buggy if one isn't supplied. Because it's an island everything has to be transported from the mainland which means everything is more expensive. The lack of cars / motorbikes means it's super quiet. It didn't have the upmarket feel I was expecting considering the price. Overall the facilities are great with lots of pools plus a great beach. Great island with beautiful blue water, very good food, the IGA was excellent. Whitehaven Beach and the Outer Reef are nearby. Nice being in the tropics but with very good facilities and restaurants. The island is privately owned and run as a resort. It’s beautiful, well kept and well run. Everything that you will need is close together around the marina - supermarket, bottle shop, restaurants, bakery, snorkel trips. Many properties offer complimentary golf buddies which are great fun to drive. It has a luxurious but laid back feel. The cafes and resturants are quite expensive and not the best considering how much your paying per meal. We visited marina tavern 8/10 lunch Pizzeria 6/10 dinner Sails 5/10 lunch Reef lounge 8/10 drinks Bakery 7/10 We used IGA alot to make meals in the apartment. Wildlife park is not worth the money Adults $35each and we were literally in their for 10mins. This unit is close to everything yet just far enough away from the general hustle and bustle to offer peace and quiet when you want. The staff are a pleasure to deal with, so friendly and accommodating and very helpful. We enjoyed our time so much and found the whole holiday exceptionally fantastic. The Villa is located just a few minutes from Hamilton Island airport, which is very convenient if you’re traveling there. The WiFi is strong in this Villa, so my family could do the Zoom calls without any issues. The house vibe is really welcoming & homey, it’s one of the best holiday house I’ve ever stayed.
