Hastings Point is a beautiful and quiet place to visit (...
Hastings Point is a beautiful and quiet place to visit (outside of school holidays). The Estuary is ideal for swimming, snorkelling, fishing and kayaking, or simply relaxing on the beach and enjoying the sound of the surf off in the distance or enjoying watching some of the many birds in the area. The Point is particularly worth a visit although, bring your own chair if you want to relax up there for a while as there is no seating. We have stayed at the small caravan park, south of the bridge, in one of their Glamping tents and in one of the apartments overlooking the creek and we still love the place. The local store provides supplies and is a great spot to grab breakfast, lunch or dinner. We also drive to Cabarita, just up the road, when in need of more significant supplies from Woolworths Supermarket. We took a few lovely drives including down to Byron Bay, Alstonville (inland from Ballina) and had a wonderful lunch at a pub in Mullumbimby serving great meals for only $20 with the best chips I've ever eaten.Guest review byAdderson - 8.0
It's a very pretty sleepy holiday spot.
It's a very pretty sleepy holiday spot. The waterways are good for families. Essentials are available from the service station, and there is a restaurant and a large well kept caravan resort as well. The other seaside villages with supermarkets and a range of cafes and restaurants are very accessible. Great seafood at the Stunned Mullet in Cabarita. Very relaxed family atmosphere.
Very relaxed family atmosphere. The river was fun to float on with the tides. There were paddle boards to hire but we didn't see the rental van until our last day so not sure that it was there. Hastings point is amazing . The complex was amazing . Unfortunately the owners have just let things slide . Mattress was appalling, Matt’s to wipe your feet were horrible given so much sand around. Even the single bed mattress’s sucked . Just spend a little money and make it lovely . Surely this isn’t your first bad review . The complex run by others was amazing . A very convenient location with easy access to to all sights...
A very convenient location with easy access to to all sights and activities from Byron Bay in the South all the way to the Gold Coast which is a very short drive Cross the border. Hastings points is a nice quiet place making for a peaceful stay. Cabarita is only 3.3kms away providing easy access to a supermarket and plenty of eating places to choose from. Pottsville is also in close by offering additional alternative. There are ample coastal look outs which offers spectacular views of the coastline.Guest review byColleenAustralia

Cabarita and other attractions in the area probably require a car although I don't know about buses in the area . Plenty of onsite parking The unit Itself was roomy and warm and had everything we needed. Having a washing machine and dryer was a bonus.
