North ward has a great vibe and feels safe. Lots of people about without being too crowded, lots of great eat places to chose from ( can recommend the Asian Thai Fusion restaurant for dinner - yum - and the Bakehouse on Eyre Street for brunch ), beautiful views out to the bay, lovely waterfront walks/ cycling, and several swimming pools within walking distance.
