So much to see and great area to go from to visit Emu Park...
So much to see and great area to go from to visit Emu Park and go on to Yeppoon as a day trip. The Gardens, the zoo , the crocodile park all within a very easy drive from the motel. The waterfront on the Firzroy River in the city and Mt.Archer are both worth a visit as well as the heritage buildings in the city centre. We also enyjoyed a day trip along the Capricorn Coast with excellent scenery and plenty of choices for coffee and food along the way.Guest review byHolden - 10

Rockhampton Botanic Gardens incorporates a zoo. Entry to both is free. The gardens are extensive and very beautiful. There is a very nice cafe with tables under huge banyan trees which I enjoyed (excellent cappuccino). I also loved the zoo which contains a range of animals (mainly "rescue" animals). There are informative talks scheduled throughout the day. I was able to get close to many animals - my favourites were the cassowary, the dingoes, the emus, the wedge-tailed eagle and the funny little meercats. Unfortunately, I only had time to spend one day in the gardens. The tourist information office was very helpful. They gave me a bus timetable and a brochure about the area of Heritage buildings in the centre of town along the river. I enjoyed looking at the buildings and learning about their history. I also loved the art exhibition about Queensland in Rockhampton Art Gallery. I enjoyed my stay in Rockhampton very much.Guest review bySylviaAustralia

Approached reception staff who were very nice but they then got the Manager ! He was the rudest person and said l couldn’t have cups etc due to people throwing them over the balcony !!!!!!!!!!What that ? Didn’t say we could have plastic ,he yelled at us saying we can get out of the hotel ! It was disgusting ,he was swearing and we were happy to leave ! It is very clean and spacious and I was fortunate to get an upgrade from the very nice manager. The accommodation was perfect for my work needs. it was very quiet and private.
