Snug spot out in Hunter’s Valley. Very private. Far enough out to feel remote but with all the creature comforts of luxury accommodation. The spa was a wonder… we’d still be in there now if we didn’t have to step out to eat and drink.

Absolutely stunning setting and huge grand house. Felt like we were in a film! Kangaroos everywhere - at one point we counted 23 that we could see from the verandah. Lovely clean pool, immaculately clean house, bags of space for us all and very comfortable beds. House stocked with everything you could possibly need. Bottle of bubbly in the fridge on arrival, nice cheese and continental brekkie on our first morning. One of the best places we have ever stayed - will DEF be back!

So spacious and comfortable , beds were extremely comfortable and warm , the view was amazing , the beautiful night sky untouched by light , quiet and peaceful area , great communication , any concern raised were fixed immedietly , the book selection was huge , heaps of games and activities , very clean

GREAT location, BBQ access was great, outdoor area was gorgeous, the sun rooms was great to sit in both morning and evening. Comfy beds and living area. Surroundings were great.

    The British Lolly Shop is a must!

    The British Lolly Shop is a must! Pick up a bottle of shimmery liqueur from small mouth distillery. Travelled with 3 teens, We enjoyed the casual driving range at Hunter Valley Gardens and the stunning VINTAGE course the next morning. We put away our phones and played poker nightly by the open fire.

    Rothbury in the Hunter Valley is a beautiful place with amazing wineries, cafes, restaurants and multiple varieties of accommodation available. It is close the great little villages, national parks, hot air balloon flights and the Day on the Green music events.

    Rothbury is close to many of the wineries and also, more importantly for us as it was a kid centred holiday, Rothbury was convenient to The Hunter Valley Gardens, aqua Golf, parks of Cessnock, bike riding options and horse riding options.

    We chose Rothbury because we were doing a mystery picnic through Amazing.co and our first stop was a cafe in Rothbury. If you dont mind being out in the middle of no where where you are surrounded by nature this is a great place to re-charge your battery’s.

    Everything is so easy to get to, roads are great and no more...

    Everything is so easy to get to, roads are great and no more than 15 minutes to get to any location. Covid protocols make it much more difficult to do a simple cellar door visit but all wineries were very accommodating if number allowed.

My expectations were high, the reality of what they have achieved just blew me away and wonderful hard working and down to earth hosts.     The location of the cottage was perfect for an adventure in the Hunter Valley. It was also very private and comfortable, plus we were surrounded by wildlife e.g. Kangaroos, Horses. It was overall a great family experience, the kids loved it. So much better than staying in a boring hotel. It was a true country getaway.
