It was the quiet season and rainy but we sat on the front veranda outside our glamping tent and watched the ocean, koalas, a possum ran right in front of our feet. It was the most magical day, completely with nature (which is a big say for me as I live in a van normally so am normally in nature). Toilet and shower block was average but clean.

    It has everything, a good shopping centre, restaurants, a great pub, kids friendly, a beach, fishing and close to other towns like Nelson Bay, Anna Bay, Fingal Bay, also close to animal & marine parks etc. Highly recommend Salamander Bay foe all ages.

    The owners have a wonderful guide book of everything you can...

    The owners have a wonderful guide book of everything you can do in and around Salamander Bay. Use their suggestions - Its detailed and a great way to finding the best food, best walks, bakeries, coffee shops, best play areas for children and things to do in wet weather. They haven't missed a beat in this guide book! We had a wet week so went ten pin bowling, movies, Soldiers point Bowling Club which has a fantastic play area for kids. Two Bobs bakery in Nelson Bay is fab and Atmos for lunch in Shoal Bay is the best for a sunny day eating great Greek food and watching the Bay glisten in the sun - perfect for long lunches!

    Nice place to stay ,lot of shops ,restaurants and parks ,it’s fun for all ages Really easy to get around The beaches are beautiful for swimming ,surfing or fishing We loved Fingal Beach and we loved the quad rides on the sand dunes

    Salamander Bay is a thin sandy white beach which is protected by Corlette and Soldiers Point. It has trees along the sand dune so there is a lot of shade to protect you while you sit on the beach and watch the children play. There is also a nature sanctuary along part of the beach and you can see Black Swans and Pelicans most days

    We had two nights booked but unfortunately we had to leave early due to a family emergency I wish we could have stayed longer. I work in a resort also so it’s hard to get time away and having it cut short like it was is devastating

    Overall a great place to stay.

    Overall a great place to stay. Whole area is clean and tidy beaches have bright white sand and everyone you walk past says hello. Quad bike King at Stockton beach was awesome and also feeding the sharks and sting rays was an eye opener aswell. You do need a car for these places though as a bit far for a walk. Highly recommend.

    We love visiting Oaks Port Stephens! The facilities are fantastic and the pool is like no other! This visit we stayed in room 10, a hotel room close to the main entrance and restaurant. The location was perfect for us and had plenty of parking. The staff at reception were so helpful during the check in process and all throughout our stay. The pool height at 1.1m is perfect for everyone (including my 7 year old) to enjoy and safely make their way around the resort. There are many amazing restaurants and shops within walking distance.

    What a fantastic place to stay. Such a find! The bedroom suite above their double garage is wonderful and so spacious and welcoming. The gardens are peaceful and serene to spend time in. Walking distance to Salamander Bay Shopping Centre. Merilyn and Bruce cannot do enough for their visitors making you very welcome. We will go back for sure! 🥰🥰
