    Great in-between for visiting the wineries in Macedon and also Daylesford. Far enough away from the hustle and bustle for it to feel calm while also not too far away (20-30 minute drives) from local attractions and spots.

    Smeaton mainly consists of farms and there is no actual township with shops or places to eat. You have to go to Creswick, Kingston or Clunes for shopping. It is a place to rest, relax and feel far from city life.

    We absolutely loved the scenery, animals, serenity and the fishing. The food in the restaurant was Devine also. The only negative for us was the fact that the breakfast wasn’t included in the price and the fact that there was lots of cob webs in our cabin.

    This was an excellent value for money and a different experience compared to a regular Motel stay. It was a home stay with private lake , garden and farm full of stock and yet had all the amenities like a hotel. Feeding Alpaco, goats, sheep and chickens can be a good experience for kids.
