The medieval buildings were beautiful and everywhere was so clean. There were lots of restaurants with excellent food and good service. It was easy to get around walking and with our hired car. I stay in Leuven for work regularly, but it never gets boring. there are so many nice restaurants and shops in the center . The old buildings like the city hall are a marvel in their own right. Easy access via train or by car, plenty of parking, sometimes even free outside the city ring with free shuttle buses.
