Provadia town is in a deep, natural rock-walled gorge, with great views up both sides, especially towards the historic Ovech Fortress up on top of the eastern side. Ovech is a real MUST SEE! Also just a short taxi ride away is Provadia Solnitsata, world-famous archaeological site of a prehistoric walled town which was an early salt production centre. The museum located in Provadia town is also a significant place to visit, and the source of information regarding visits to Solnitsata where archaeological excavations are ongoing.
