Amherst is wonderfully located for numerous day trips in central Nova Scotia - day trips along the Northumberland shore and along the Bay of Fundy are both easy. Not to be missed is the guided tour at the Joggins Fossil Cliffs. A stop at Deanne Fitzpatrick Studios should be a mandatory stop - the artistic rug hooking is awe-inspiring. I drove from the Moncton airport, parked my car in the free parking behind the location and didn't use my car again until I left to drive back to the Moncton airport.
