We like Brockville because of the St.

We like Brockville because of the St. Lawrence River and Block House Island where you can picnic and watch the boats/ships go by. We sometimes take a boat tour. Don’t miss out on Don’s Fish and Chips! We only live an hour away but it is a perfect staycation for us seniors.

Reeked of diesel fuel on Rockport Cruises unfortunately. Otherwise it was a great cruise! Aquatarium was a little bit of a disappointment. There was plenty of room in the reptile area, but they were housed in cages that I felt were far too small for their needs with lots of space in between. 2 cages were empty and had no labels as if the reptiles had died. I really liked the part where kids could touch the creatures of the sea bottom, and I will suggest that to Science North in Sudbury, it is an excellent display. . But there were a few displays that were empty, the place kind of looked like they were in the midst of renos. Also, it was really far from parking and since I used a cane I felt it overly difficult. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I did find a plush beaver for a very reasonable price in the gift shop.

Brockville is an interesting small city of 22,000 to visit.

Brockville is an interesting small city of 22,000 to visit. It has a variety of restaurants, shopping and being on the north shore of the Saint Lawrence River and close to Prescott, Gananoque and Kingston there are numerous islands on this stretch of the river and, therefore, many cruises available. Fortunately, during our week there, the weather was magnificent which permitted us to do a lot of walking in the downtown core which has many splendid historical buildings to admire.

On this trip we had young family members with us and they had a great time in the Aquatarium . What a super place , its so child friendly we had a hard time dragging the children away from each area. We also enjoyed the tunnel experience and a shout out to Prehistoric World in Morrisburg . Overall Brockville made a great destination for a young family.

Begin with the visitor's centre for a map and update on all things in Brockville - they had many great suggestions. My top picks: The underground railroad, then follow the Waterfront Trail to the Museum (it was Great!) and continue on the Waterfront Trail for a lovely walk. Do not miss the Aquatarium. Take a walk around the downtown area to see many important historic buildings. For dinner, make a reservation at Buell Street Bistro - we had a wonderful meal and excellent service while sitting in their outdoor patio.

We were only here on an overnight visit after going to a show at the Upper Canada Playhouse. The weather was cool and overcast so although we drove around for a bit did not really take in the sights. The downtown area is a must to see though and holds an old time charm that should not be missed. From historical period homes and lovely shops/stores to visit and all set against the mighty St Lawrence River. We have promised ourselves to go back when it gets warmer and take full advantage of the area.

Passable - What previous guests thought, 279 reviews
Upon arrival I was informed there was no longer a room available. Staff did nothing to try and remedy the situation and also still charged my credit card for the booking after I had left to find another hotel.

Hotel is located in central downtown. Close to nice restaurants and amenities. Beautiful room. Very upscale. Very impressed. Would definitely be our only choice for a return visit to Brockville.

The selection of food for breakfast was good. The location for the hotel was perfect for the Tall Ship Festival. It was also easy to find while driving.
