Very nice town on Lake Huron, great shops and all the services you need. We stayed there because we went to visit some apple orchards to sample their cider products, we hiked in the Blue Mountains and we also really enjoyed Wasaga Beach without the crowds during this amazingly warm off-season (September 2025). The parking at Sunset Point was outrageous; $ 10/hour. It's not easy to find free parking in the city. Don't park in the downtown Loblaws parking lot and leave....you will be fined! We brought our bikes and cycled the Georgian Trail, an unpaved but easy ride to Thornbury and Meaford. Be sure to have ice cream in Thornbury on the main street, little yellow front. Just off First Street in Collingwood, is an amazing trail and boardwalk, we just found it by accident. But shouldn't be missed. Visited the Blue Mountain village. Very pleasant, great for families. After the village visit we spent the afternoon at Wasaga Beach, beach #5 was a lovely spot.Guest review byRitaCanada - 10.0

We enjoyed our visit to Collingwood very much. The well preserved older buildings, the fact that newer buildings are made to match the older buildings and there aren't any really tall buildings there, allowing a great view of the sky everywhere you are. The Museum provided a great and very interesting history of Collingwood. The Village is a must see. The view going down the hill from the Scenic Caves is second to none! We found everyone in the town to be so friendly. Great restaurants, trails, parks, waterfront - you have it all, Collingwood! I love Collingwood.
I love Collingwood. The charm of the architecture in the retail section, the ease of driving and exploring, and the food! Such great food options in this town. Try Heavenly Cafe for incredible croissants (cleverly disguised as French Toast if you make that selection) and other truly artistic baked goods. Tesoro for Italian and Prime79 for steak were our dinner destinations and both were absolutely fantastic. 10/10. Lunch at Fig & Feta was also really good. 1858 Caesar Bar has every Caesar possibility you can imagine - or had never even thought of. I'll definitely be returning to enjoy the town and continue working my way through the restaurant opportunities. It is nice place to visit in winter but I have been using booking.com since year 2012 for my trips. So far I have been visited more than 20 countries but i will soon switch my reservation to another service campany . We got our rooms at the back of the motel, so it was very quiet and private. The rooms were also very clean. We stayed for four nights. The location was wonderful for wishing to travel anywhere in the Collingwood area - by foot or by vehicle. Tim Horton's, McDonald's, Kelsey's right there.
