United StatesOur host, Luc, was helpful, easy to contact and very kind. He has created two lovely, and comfortable spaces which can be used separately or opened up to make a two bedroom apartment. Field was a short 25 minute drive to Lake Louise , a short distance from beautiful natural bridge and Emerald Lake and around the corner from a wonderful restaurant.

United StatesThe apartment was a well done remodeled lodging that was completely equipped. The only negative with the apartment was there was no view. When we had questions about something Charlie was very prompt in responding. The location was close to Banff National Park and the cost was way less than Lake Louise lodgings I found. There is a very good restaurant (Truffle Pigs Bistro) to walk to just a block down the street. It was the perfect fit for our travels.

Field is a small, quiet, town just off the Trans Canadian Highway. It has a few shops and an Inn which serves food. There are spectacular mountains on both sides of the valley with a beautiful river running through it. I stayed at Cathedral Mountain Lodge because it was the closest place to Lake O’Hara. I had managed to win a much coveted bus ticket, and this was the perfect place to stay the night before. Absolutely loved staying at the lodge, views of mountains all around. The only thing I don’t like about this area is the highway. Emerald Lake Lodge was a fabulous stay but even if you don't get to experience a roaring fire in your lake side room, the hiking trails even around the lake are beautiful!! The Natural Bridge over Kicking Horse pass is on the same road, and is a Must See! The Town of Field is a quaint little village that is great for photos of train tracks and often Elk. Takkaka Falls are also just before the Village of Field exit. Although the road to the parking lot is closed until spring and its like a 16 km trek in! We liked the room but the stairs up to our unit were extremely steep when carrying luggage. Our balcony overlooking Emerald Lake was lovely but smoky while we were there. We took our own fan which was good advice from my sister. It was very hot at that time. Once the tourists left the lake around 5 pm it became very peaceful. Enjoyed walking around the resort in the evening. It was too hot to use the wood burning fireplace. Would love to come back to stay in some of the other cabins.Guest review byMarilynCanada - 10.0

We stayed at the Emerald Lake Lodge outside of Field. Notwithstanding this, the village itself is quite interesting. To stay in the village overnight you have to be impervious to train noise. The mountains surrounding Field and the attractions close by are outstanding. It's beauty surpasses Lake Louise, in my opinion.Guest review byDavidCanada

This is a great self-contained suite with its own front door, and very spacious, comfortable, and clean. It is perfectly located for Emerald Lake, only a 10-15 minute drive away. Field itself is a lovely little local community, with few tourists, and it's a bonus that it has a restaurant/bar that's a very short walk from Charlie's Guesthouse.
