AustraliaWe loved staying in this bright, roomy and clean 2 bedroom, upstairs apartment. We booked last minute due to an accommodation cancellation in Jasper. Having a kitchen was fantastic for us. It was decorated well and lots of small touches made it a very comfortable stay. The owner, Luc, was very hospitable and informative. Field is a quiet little village about 15-20 minutes drive away from the crowds of Lake Louise. There is no grocery shop in Field but you can easily get supplies in Lake Louise. We ate one night at the local pub - Truffle Pig. Whilst there are lots of perhaps more attractive (from the outside) properties to stay in around this area, this place is a real surprise inside. We used the heater on one cold night and it was lovely. Bedding was very comfortable and all very clean. Having some space and an extra bedroom and access to all we wanted to see ( plus a few bonus attractions) was perfect for us. The nearby falls and the Emerald Lake are must see attractions.

Field is a small, quiet, town just off the Trans Canadian Highway. It has a few shops and an Inn which serves food. There are spectacular mountains on both sides of the valley with a beautiful river running through it. I stayed at Cathedral Mountain Lodge because it was the closest place to Lake O’Hara. I had managed to win a much coveted bus ticket, and this was the perfect place to stay the night before. Absolutely loved staying at the lodge, views of mountains all around. The only thing I don’t like about this area is the highway. Emerald Lake Lodge was a fabulous stay but even if you don't get to experience a roaring fire in your lake side room, the hiking trails even around the lake are beautiful!! The Natural Bridge over Kicking Horse pass is on the same road, and is a Must See! The Town of Field is a quaint little village that is great for photos of train tracks and often Elk. Takkaka Falls are also just before the Village of Field exit. Although the road to the parking lot is closed until spring and its like a 16 km trek in! We liked the room but the stairs up to our unit were extremely steep when carrying luggage. Our balcony overlooking Emerald Lake was lovely but smoky while we were there. We took our own fan which was good advice from my sister. It was very hot at that time. Once the tourists left the lake around 5 pm it became very peaceful. Enjoyed walking around the resort in the evening. It was too hot to use the wood burning fireplace. Would love to come back to stay in some of the other cabins.Guest review byMarilynCanada - 10.0

We stayed at the Emerald Lake Lodge outside of Field. Notwithstanding this, the village itself is quite interesting. To stay in the village overnight you have to be impervious to train noise. The mountains surrounding Field and the attractions close by are outstanding. It's beauty surpasses Lake Louise, in my opinion.Guest review byDavidCanada

We loved the location in the small town of Field with the amazing restaurant The Truffle Pigs where we ate every night. It was a great location to visit Lake Louise, the Icefields Parkway & obviously Yoho N P. The furniture & bedding was all very comfortable. Luc was a great host with very helpful information.
