Fort Erie is a nice sparsely populated place with a lot of open spaces and lots of greenery. However , to enjoy Fort Erie in totality , you should be mobile or be ready to walk distances ( we had lovely weather so did a lot of walking with sightseeing ). This was the perfect stop on our way to Niagara Falls from the Washington DC area. We didn't want to stay on the main strip and this neighborhood was very nice, the house beautiful, the hosts lovely, parking was easy and there is a very good brewery (Brimstone Brewing Company) and other restaurants in walking distance. Went there only for beaches but all beaches were overcrowded...
Went there only for beaches but all beaches were overcrowded. Parking for not local people is $35 near the beach. It's a robbery. All beaches are not allowing dogs while almost every family now has a dog. This need to be changed throughout the province. Its staff were very friendly and gave us great suggestions on where to eat. After a long days drive it was nice to get something to eat and get back to the hotel within a few minutes drive down the main street. We chose a lovely Vietnamese restaurant located in a strip mall.
