Being close to the harbour is the only way we could imagine visiting Halifax. The harbour is so lively and walkable that we did not use our car for the 3 days. There are lots of interesting sights nearby if you choose to drive or take tours.

If you need a rental car out of the airport it is common they run out of cars. This caused huge problems for us and had to use alternative services. If same happens to you try Turo in Halifax. People rent their cars through the service.

    What an absolute mess!

What an absolute mess! If you plan on staying in one spot, enjoy Halifax! If you plan on travelling around the city, plan for an entire day just for the drive. My hotel was only 9 kms from my event and it took 30 minutes each way. Construction at every turn. Heavy traffic. Not sure about the sites .. couldn't get past the brake lights!

Halifax is a great city to explore, lots of historical areas, restaurants and shops. An amazing boardwalk to explore. Restaurants to try: Five Fishermen, Millstone, Wooden Monkey, and Evan's Seafood. Ferry to and from Dartmouth to Halifax, very handy. Great villages to visit: Peggy's Cove, Hubbard (eat at Tuna Blue), Chester, Lundenberg has amazing shops, distilleruea to check out and restaurants) and Oak Island Tour (yes the one with the TV show that searches for treasure. 13th season being filmed).

Three days in Halifax is plenty.

Three days in Halifax is plenty. I recommend going out of Halifax to the North and explore the Cabot trail. Keep in mind that it is remote in some places and make sure you have dinner before 6:00 pm or you can find yourselves without it,

The location was great for us. Dartmouth isn't in Halifax but we only had to walk 4 minutes to catch the ferry across the river into Halifax downtown. We were close to restaurants too. Dartmouth was nice to walk around as much as Halifax itself. Buses were also close by so it was easy to get around. The apartment was small but was bright and comfortable. We had all we needed for our stay. Friendly, helpful neighbours who helped us up the stairs with our suitcases when we arrived.

Suite was exceptionally clean and fresh, king bed was very comfortable even for my husband who has a bad back and bed linens were so nice - crisp and cool just the way I like them. Plus the hosts were amazing! We needed to check in a little early to make our dinner reservations in downtown Halifax. They bent over backwards so we could check in a little early and freshen up before heading to the restaurant. It was a great experience.

Very clean and situated at an interesting location! Great view to the fishing boats and great decor in the Inn itself. We had a vehicle so at night we could drive up to the halifax ferry terminal parking and use the ferry to easily go to downtown and return later at night. Would recommend this to place!

Very convenient location right at the Halifax citadel, just a few blocks to the waterfront, a few street parking lots in front of the hotel, more private lots at additional cost in the back of the hotel, washer and dryer at disposal at additional cost, clean, good selection for breakfast

A very comfortable and ideally located hotel for visiting Halifax NS. Reception staff helpful and cheerful (Cathy in particular was brilliant and the most friendly hotel receptionist we met in Canada).
