FAQs about hotels in Montreal

A Blend of the Urban and the Outdoors

Montreal is the second largest city in Canada and the entry point to Quebec province via Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport. Montreal truly has it all. Divided into East and West by Boulevard Saint-Laurent, there are several districts to the city, each offering a distinct atmosphere.

Downtown is best explored on foot, as you weave your way through skyscrapers and visit museums such as the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. In the winter you can steer clear of icy paths by heading underground to the passages of the Underground City, full of shops, movie theaters and food courts.

From there, the metro will conveniently take you outwards in any direction you might want to go, from the historic Old Montreal to the hip café and restaurant culture of the Quartier Latin-Le Village.

In summer, stay closer to the historic quarter and head outdoors in Parc Jean-Drapeau on the St. Lawrence River islands of Île Sainte-Helen and Île Notre-Dame. If the weather isn’t good enough for rowing, water-skiing and beaches then head to Montreal Casino.

Whether you’re visiting for festivals or fashion, gastronomy or culture, with over 190 hotels and B&Bs with Booking.com you’ll find your perfect home away from home.

Montreal is going through a phase of a great deal of infrastructure upgrade. This made it a little difficult to walk around. The old town area is vibrant and quaint, waterfront area with ferris wheel and magnificent Autumn trees worth visiting. Great selection of eateries in old town area.

Montreal Old Port area is comparable to Quebec City Old town. When it comes to tourist attractions combine with shopping and entertainment and easy availability of variety of meal options (Western, Asian, Middle Eastern ect), Montreal wins compared to the other Canadian cities.

We did a lot in the short time we were there.

We did a lot in the short time we were there. Catching a ship for a cruise to Boston and spent a few days beforehand seeing the sights of Montreal. The only place I did not enjoy was the trip to Montmorency Falls as in September water flow was not so great so very underwhelming. I'm sure when water was flowing the falls would have been amazing.

Great casino. Percy Walter’s Park was nearby and so pet friendly! Miss the carriages in Old Montreal, should be a way to see that area without having to WALK. ( we’re getting older). Great variety of good restaurants within easy travel distance.

Best city in Canada forrestaurants, attractions.Traffic on Metropolitain is out of control. When speed limit is 70km per hr, I do 80 km per hr. Others go 100+ km per hr. When speed limit is 100 km per hr, others go 130+ km per hr, No police anywhere enforcing speed limit - day or night. Metropolitain is a death trap. I witnessed accidents in both directions. Very frightening.

Interesting city - well worth a couple of days. The open top bus tour experience depends on the tour guide - we had an excellent young one and a past his sell by date older gentleman who rambled and repeated himself. Lots to see and do.

A great hotel. The heated rooftop pool is the main highlight. The rooms are spacious and modern. The only thing may not be the most recent renovation, but it is very clean. Separately, I want to say that the bed is very comfortable. We spent 3 nights there and the next time I come to Montreal, I will definitely choose it without hesitation. And also, everything is within walking distance - Downtown, Bell Center, the old port and old city.

It's a suite with a kitchen, making it convenient to cook if you'd like. The location is ideal, located near the old montreal, Chinatown, and downtown, making it easy to explore on foot. This is a simple, not high-end luxury hotel. Perfect for city explorers, this accommodation is ideal for those who want to experience all Montreal has to offer, rather than spending time in the hotel.

The location of the hotel is its big draw — right downtown, next to the train station. All the staff from the concierge to the room service staff were doing their best to be helpful and friendly. We usually stay at Fairmonts when traveling in Canada and so the familiar amenities, menu etc helped make us feel at home. The king size bed was really comfortable; I would buy it.

Hotel staff were extremely accommodating, we had issues with our first room due to noise and our concerns were responded to very promptly, with our new room having a fantastic view of the Montréal skyline. Would thoroughly recommend to those not looking to stay in downtown Montréal, but a 15/20 mins walk away from the downtown attractions.
