A lovely small town to wander around at the weekend.
A lovely small town to wander around at the weekend. The local beer is delicious, as is the home made ice cream. The Nook and Cranny restaurant served a great home made burger, washed down with a glass of the local ‘Hippy Dippy’ light ale from the Tatamagouche Brewery. Our stay at the Train Station Inn was very enjoyable and we would recommend staying there if you like something different. The rooms are renovated cabooses and there is a cafe/gift shop in the station building, along with a dining car that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Excellent food! There is a Saturday farmers market that also has live music. Jost vineyard is just up the road and is a lovely spot for wine tasting and lunch - the wood fired pizza is delicious! We walked up the railway trail and back, which runs along the French River and is very scenic. There is also a play park and small beach along the trail where you can stop and enjoy the view, while the kids play on the park and beach. Sugar Moon Farm isn’t too far down the road, either. All in all it’s a lovely town with enough to see and do for a couple or three days.

Tatamagouche is a lovely small town with lots to see and do. The people are very friendly and the food is awesome at all the restaurants. There are lots of shops offering a variety of good sand services. There are several types of acommodations available. Also a great trail to walk or cycle.

People are very friendly. Food was good . We
enjoyed the Creamery Market, Nook and Cranny as well as Big Al's and the homemade ice cream shop. The hospitality at the Train Station Inn was wonderful. We also enjoyed the music on Friday night on the platform as well as their takeout food. The only not so great moment we experienced was when we tried to go to the Chowder house for lunch on Saturday. There was no lineup and we were turned away and told that they had no idea when there would be a vacancy. We decided to go elsewhere.

We wanted to have an accommodation out in the woods, or on a farm, and we found both at the Green Dragon. Surrounded by the wilderness of Nova Scotia., greeted by two irresistible goats, a superb affectionate cat and a host with a sunny smile, we felt welcome. We Loved the comfortable and well appointed suite, the cosy breakfasts, the chats and the rich heritage of Tatamagouche Thank you Stephan for sharing your land with us

Clean and comfy, good price, easy location for a visit to Tatamagouche. There's a restaurant on site and a grocery across the road. Easy walk into town, too.
