Rooms were clean and beds very comfortable. Easy to walk to restaurants and Main St. First night on floor 1 was noisy. Wood floors and one inch gap under door means you hear everything. Asked for and was moved top floor 3 for the next three nights and was carpeted and pretty quiet. Ask for floor 3 at the end of a hall. Parking as mentioned in reviews is very limited. There's 180 rooms and maybe 20 off street spaces in front at most. There are two more at the back of the hotel. Otherwise all parking in the area is parking meters 9 to 5ish. You can get a 3 day visitor pass for free street parking at the city visitor center that may help but you still have to observe 2 hour limits or whatever posted. Staff were all very nice and accommodating. One problem was something I've never encountered anywhere else in the world that I can remember and that is that housekeeping entered and cleaned the room even with a do not disturb sign hung outside. The sign had been up two days and I was thinking I was doing them a favor by skipping cleaning. They should have observed my request.

The scenery is beautiful - mountains, lakes, rivers. We enjoyed riding around the wildlife reserve on their bikes to see the animals, especially the muskoxen. The Yukon river is amazing. large and fast flowing. Visited Miles Canyon Suspension Bridge, Fireweed Market, Beringia Interpretive Center, MacBride Museum, Transportation Museum, Carcross, Haines Junction, Kathleen Lake, DaKu Cultural Center, Yukon Suspension Bridge. Whitehorse has a definite vibe and we could've spent additional time there but we had a schedule so had to stick to it. We barely scratched the surface - there is alot to do in the region and the restaurants we visited were terrific. We loved Burnt Toast, Klondike Rib & Salmon and Woodcutter's Blanket. The people are warm and friendly - and the city is really set in amazing geography!

While in Whitehorse we visited the Whitehorse Museum, the Beringia Museum, Miles Canyon and spent a few hours at the hot springs north of town. The museums are fabulous--so much interesting history in the Yukon, The canyon is a short drive from town and is very interesting--there is a suspension bridge over the river and the river runs very fast through the canyon. The hot springs are fabulous but a bit pricey. There are several different pools with varying temperatures, sauna, steam room, and relaxation room. It was welcome after a travel day. We also drove down to Skagway Alaska to see this old gold rush town. There were several cruise ships in port and the town was very busy. The drive from Whitehorse and back was spectacular even in the rain.

Nice city, a good amount of hotels to choose from, but stay away from the Raven inn, Canada’s best value inn River view, family inn hotel, Choose hotel by what your budget will allow, rent a car up there stay a few days at most, then head out on the highway and see the areas up and around Whitehorse. In a weeks time (rental period) we saw Braeburn, Dawson city, Carmacks, Haines junction, Haines Alaska, drove a little bit on the Dempster highway, about ten minutes worth..lol..don’t want to have any problems to the rental, took the Alaska ferry from Haines up to Skagway, then up into the mountains from Skagway, carcross, and then back to Whitehorse.

Location was great for walking to downtown attractions. The river walk was just across the street. The room was small but well equipped with coffee maker, kettle, microwave, fridge, and pitcher for water. The shower was great, once you got to it. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating.
