Bottmingen is a very nice, quiet place, with plenty of restaurants and bars. For us, we wanted somewhere between Basel and where our relatives live in Biel Benken, so was very well placed for us. Bottmingen is a great neighbourhood to stay outside Basel.
Bottmingen is a great neighbourhood to stay outside Basel. It has an efficient tram link to the centre, but it is much quieter. The municipal pool at Bottmingen is superb and very well run. I felt really taken care of. Like, for example, they saw that my car didn't have the vignette in the right place and they advise me to put it right to avoid a fine. If I had stayed in a hotel they would not even care I think. Hey also attended to other personal and specific requests I had (for personal reasons I wont share) and they did go above and beyond what I would have expected.
