Delicious supper - Thai cod curry. Delicate, perfect amount. Haute-cuisine in the mountain. The hosts were chatty, engaged. Able to have a late check out because there were no other guests arriving for our room. That was one of the best things because it meant we could ski happily during the morning. Perfect.

The location couldn't be better. Right behind the building, there's a small train that takes you through picturesque mountains to the slopes within minutes. The apartment is fully equipped and comfortable (the beds in particular) and has a large balcony with a wonderful view of the surrounding winter wonderland. I see myself coming back throughout the year for hiking, wine tastings, and musical festivals as well. The place is up to modern standards while maintaining a nice mountain feel.

The place truly has everything you need for a short stay. If the weather is bad, you turn on the big tv screen and connect with your own device. If the weather is good, Villars is the perfect place to discover the neighborhoods and go for long walks (or take public transport) to Roc d’Orsay or Bretanye. Lennart is always quick to respond, open to creative solutions (with tourist tax, check in or late check outs for example 😉) and a very friendly host. He has provided everything you need, including board games, cleaning products a fondue set and some basic necessities for cooking. The view from the living and bed room is stunning, you directly look at the mountains that surround Villars.

    A Swiss village with a real mountain feel. La Chaumiere Cafe in the main street is excellent with superb views. Easy to reach by train from Bex, or bus from Aigle, as parking in the town is difficult.

    We used to visit regularly for skiing & in the summer when we owned a flat in Leysin. Villars is busier with better facilities generally. There was a medieval festival at Ollon that was interesting. Visiting Montreux & Vevey is around 45 minutes. Restaurants are all expensive but the local supermarket was well stocked. The go cart descent from Roc d’Orsay and Parc Aventure are good fun for kids & adults! Booking on line for Villars Mountain Golf course is easy & the first nine holes being the best.

    We were skiing for 3 days in March and so towards the end of the season when the snow on the lower slopes wasn't so good by the end of the day. The resort is good for a long weekend, but I think a week would be too long as we would be doing the same slopes over and over. The trip to the Glacier 3000 was well worth the extra ski pass cost. It's very cool. The village has some great bars and a good selection of restaurants. We went to watch the local ice hockey team in the playoff finals which was a lot of fun and free.

    We were there for an offsite and it was a very convenient hotel for big groups (has a few good meeting rooms as well). I came one night earlier and enjoyed their Asian restaurant in the evening. The breakfast is continental buffet style and was very correct. Rooms are really big with nice balconies and good views (they looked very new vs the rest of the hotel). I arrived by bus, which is walking distance from the hotel.

    The property was idyllic and very private. It was exceptionally clean and well stocked with all basic needs. It was very cosy. We were lucky with the weather and took advantage of the outdoor seating and lounge chairs. The space could be very small for more than two people, especially if you can't get out because of poor weather. Superb location, within easy reach of centre. I would rebook.
