The rooms, service, and food were excellent. The staff were also attentive. The hotel is located on a quiet promontory, with a lovely garden to relax and enjoy the views. This hotel is truly noteworthy, and I will definitely return. A bonus is how beautiful the hotel is as it features a vintage style. Another valuable feature were the personal room balconies and big windows which allowed cool air flow during hot afternoons.

Exceeded the expectations; "This hotel gave us no room to complain". The hotel is a classic one (wooden and carpet walls); beds are super comfy; rooms are well equipped with almost all modern facilities (hair dryers, kettles, etc). Bathrooms are super clean and well maintained; not to mention the excellent fittings, etc, that will make you realize you are not in an ordinary 4-star hotel. We had booked a family room and the hotel gave us a corner room (two views - Staubach falls and Jungfraujoch peak). And yes it is very near to the railway station, 3 to 5 mins walk (will feel nothing if you have trolley bags). Due to time constraints, we couldn't enjoy other facilities the hotel offerred like spa, swimming pools, etc

Where do I even start, everything about the Grand Hotel Belvedere was perfection!! From the minute we arrived, we felt instantly welcome. We were greeted by very friendly staff and treated to a delicious welcome drink in the lounge. We then realised my husband had left his backpack on the train which had lots of valuables in it. The staff immediately contacted the train station and located the backpack and arranged for a staff member to collect it for us (thank goodness for the honest Swiss person who handed it in). With the crisis averted we settled into our beautiful hotel room and headed out to explore Wengen, but not before taking a moment to enjoy the breathtaking view from our balcony! We have travelled a lot and I don’t think I have ever experienced a hotel with staff like this. They made us feel like they were genuinely excited for us to be there and every encounter with every single staff member was a delight. They were helpful, happy, enthusiastic and so friendly. They also made our children feel very welcome and made an effort to engage with them. The rooms and bathrooms are absolutely divine. As an interior designer myself I was in awe of the design of the rooms and common spaces, the bar, restaurant and lounge were as beautiful as the rooms. The buffet breakfast was delicious and our dinner in the restaurant was also incredible. We absolutely loved Wengen and our experience at the Belvedere made our stay all the more enjoyable. This hotel and the staff are very special, thank you for going out of your way to make our stay so memorable, we will be back for sure.

Everything, including the location of the chalet and views. For the first in Europe, stay in the chalet felt like home from home. Overall experience was much better than I expected. We have enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching the trains after we returned in the evening. Rebecca was the perfect host, and she has provided everything we need during our stay.     Wengen is a perfect spot to make home base while you explore the Lauterbrunnen and Jungfrau region. This car free village is easily accessible by train from Lauterbrunnen, where you find a relatively cheap car park and train access to Interlaken. Wengen felt less crowded than Mürren or Lauterbrunnen in the valley. There are numerous restaurants, stores, and two grocery stores in town to stock up on essentials. Getting around the area is easy thanks to the train and the Männlichen gondola.

    Wengen location was great and not as busy compared to...

    Wengen location was great and not as busy compared to Grindelwald. No cars allowed and quieter location. It’s definitely more of a ski village feel. The train station is easily accessible to all lodging. Only downside is the lack of restaurant options compared to larger villages such as Grindelwald. Shopped at COOP for additional snacks and food when needed. Overall had a great stay at Wengen.

    Wengen was better than expected.

    Wengen was better than expected. The trains up and down were so good and reliable. The town has an amazing position high above Lauterbrunnen valley. Good walks through and around Wengen. Choice of restaurants were ok but we were expecting more. Lots to do, definitely be back one day. It is a bit up and down so expect a workout. The crazy golf by the information centre was fun.

    A lovely, well-established ski and hiking center, with panoramic views. Easy access by train and connections to other towns and sights in the area. The central area is on level ground and easy to walk around, but note that many chalets and small hotels are on the steep slope below, and the uphill walk is a challenge.

    Wengen was a quaint little town with a train station, good...

    Wengen was a quaint little town with a train station, good tourist shopping and stunning views. We struggled a little finding a dinner restaurant but luckily our hotel offered an evening meal. Wengen is an easily walkable little town that seems to cater to tourism. All in all, it was a. lovely stay.

    In my view Wengen is the nicest location to stay in the Jungfrau area, but certainly not the cheapest. Very conveniently placed for local trails and walks etc. On cloudy or rainy days you can also easily whizz off on return day trips by trains from nearby Interlaken to a surprising number of other locations in Switzerland, or take the local train up to Kleine Scheidegg, then on to Grindelwald, or from Wengen down to Lauterbrunnen. There are more walking trails and wonderful sites/viewpoints to visit in this general area than time may allow. When the weather has been less favourable, I have easily managed daily return trips using the half fare card by train from Wengen to Zermatt, Fiesch, Domodossala (Italy), Kandersteg, Luzern, Bern and Montreux and arrived back in cosy Wengen in time for early evening tea, so no precious days need be wasted to weather when staying in the mountains. The Co-op & Bakers (recommended for lunch bagettes etc) in Wengen are a bonus if you want to avoid expensive hotel meals, while Interlaken with a wider choice of meal venues is only two short (and scenic) train rides away. That short train ride from Lauterbrunnen to Wengen becomes very addictive after a while! Also try and take at least one boat ride on the nearby lakes, and for a real thrill ride take one of the mountain post buses from Grindelwald bus station and marvel at how the drivers cope driving such a large vehicle along such tiny mountain roads with the help of copious horn use!

    I recently stayed at Hotel Alpenruhe and had a lovely experience. The room was a bit small, but it was cozy and comfortable, which made up for it. Prices are on the higher side, but that's expected in Switzerland. However, the delicious breakfast and the amazing staff truly made the stay worthwhile. They even came by a small van to pick us up from the train station, which was a thoughtful gesture. Swiss hospitality is among the best in the world, and Hotel Alpenruhe exemplifies that. I look forward to visiting again!

    The hotel was very clean, had great facilities, amazing views and very convenient location right by the train station. The room we had was large with a great view of the village, and the beds were super comfortable. The breakfast had good variety and was very convenient. We loved going out for adventures all day and coming back to the spa to use the hot tub and pool. Wengen itself was extremely charming, and getting to come back to our lovely hotel was a bonus. We loved it here and would definitely stay again!

    The Hotel Bellevue has probably the best location in Wengen. It's at the end of town with a beautiful view of the valley and is peaceful and quiet. The staff are excellent and welcoming, and the restaurant fantastic.
