Amazing location, super helpful staff went above and beyond for us, and we got a great traditional chinese dinner and a lovely european breakfast for a decent price. Amazing access to parts of the wall where you wont be drowning in a sea of tourists - we hardly met anyone while hiking it.

Hosts offer everything you could possibly want or need - from collecting at the station to fantastic breakfasts/evening meals and freshly brewed coffee as well! In terms of visiting the wall you will get the very best authentic experience including drop offs and pick ups, sunrise/sunset walks or be left alone to be totally independent. The stay from start to finish was amazing. The hotel is family run, and has a very friendly and homely atmosphere. Lily and her husband are fantastic hosts. They provided lunch, dinner and breakfast while we stayed and each were delicious (the food is locally sourced). The hotel itself is modern and comfortable, with a rooftop terrace where you can view parts of the Great Wall. The remaining view is of luscious green trees on the surrounding mountains. Lily actually booked our entry tickets (and chair lift up/tobogan down) for us. The entrance to the Great Wall is a 5 minute walk away, but Lilys husband dropped us to the gate as we were going very early in the morning. I'd recommend staying in Mutianyu if you can when visiting the Wall, and would especially recommend staying here! We had a great time staying there! Brian and Sophie.

The manager was super attentive since the moment we made the booking. He offered transport service to/from Beijing, although we had our own already booked. The team greeted us with a great dinner included in our price, and the breakfast was also excellent. They sorted out the tickets for us, which was super helpful. They also took us to the great wall cable car entrance, and picked us up once we had finished. Super friendly people and I definitely recommend staying! By the way, the boy on the picture with Boris Johnson is the manager nowadays, although the pic was taken in 2008. This shows just how many years of experience they’ve had greeting international clients at this amazing resort! :)
