Qinhuangdao is a very nice place to be during Spring until...
Qinhuangdao is a very nice place to be during Spring until Autumn, so to enjoy either the culture and scenic site as well the beach near the sea. We went for a long weekend holiday trip with the focus to see the various site of the Great Wall in an surrounding Shanhaiguan at Lao Long Tou, Shanhaiguan Fortress, Jiaoshan and Jiumenkou. Jiumenkou is already in Liaoning Province, but very close by to Qinhuangdao with just around 45 km distance. We did not even manage to sea all sites we planned to and will definitely come again. To move around in the cities at the coast line, you can easily use taxi or even better by Didi App. The Jiumenkou section of the Great Wall we can highly recommend. Beautiful scenery where the Great Wall part is located due to surrounding mountains where you see ruins of the Great Wall, while you walk and partly climb on the nicely restored part. Very special make the part of that section that is constructed as a Great Wall bridge over the local river, that passes the Great Wall there. Worth the trip and highly recommended.
