The view is superb! I have never seen anything like this in my life. The locals are kind and ready to help. Very safe to travel by family or alone. It's best to spend a week there and explore the region by renting a local electric scooter . But some point of interests are far apart and required to travel by boat so if you can't be bothered, make sure to have your local tour guide to help.Guest review byTongyu - 10

Yangshuo is what people think of when they think of Guilin.
Yangshuo is what people think of when they think of Guilin. It is set in beautiful surroundings, with karst hills, forests and rivers, is full of history and interest and is packed with lively bars and restaurants but has easy access to quieter, rural lanes and villages. Visitors love to dress up in local dress and photograph themselves so there's quite a party atmosphere. There is a lot to do in Yangshuo.
There is a lot to do in Yangshuo. Very nice places to see and we can also enjoy some of them using a bike or scooter. Take a cruise on the Li river and enjoy a bamboo boat rafting (quite soft). A trip up and down the river (raft or boat) and walking around West street are the highlights, we enjoyed the local park and the . The scenery is very beautiful, but marred by the traffic. We ate in the restaurant at the River-View hotel, very popular with locals and tourists alike. Don't imagine you can get to other towns easily by public transport, the bus station is well outside of town, hence the large numbers of e-scooters in use. The "Yangshuo" train station is actually 34km/21 miles away from Yangshuo, at Xinping, you need to book train tickets a few days in advance, they often sell out. Be aware of the Great Fire-wall of China; all google apps and many more don't work. Most people (and our hotel) used WeChat (instead of WhatsApp), AliPay, and DiDi for taxis- download the apps before you get to China and bring a local sim with you.Guest review byYARGILAUnited Kingdom
