Orosí Lodge is a beautiful property. It is not fancy, but the solitude of the town of Orosi makes this a special place away from the traffic and congestion of not far away Cartago and especially, San Jose. There are roads in the region which would allow for driving to much of the Country and eliminating San Jose and its’ traffic entirely; spend a few days and relax at Orosi Lodge and then drive a rent a car for stays in other parts of Costa Rica, especially the Caribbean Coast and the Southern Pacific Coast. Andreas and Connie, the owners of the Lodge, are extremely helpful with recommendations. The rest of the Staff there is very friendly and a great breakfast is available, if you want. In addition, there are many inexpensive restaurants within walking distance. Don’t miss the Spanish Colonial Church in the center of town built in the 1700s.

We liked the peace and quiet, the privacy, the stunning views, all the birds, the well equipped, kitchen, outside barbecue, the beautiful covered deck with the doors that opened wide from the living room and bedroom so that you could enjoy the outside inside, the proximity to numerous restaurants within 10 minute drive, the very friendly, hostess and staff, the incredible value, the binder that she leaves guest, suggesting all the things that you can do in the area and all the restaurants to visit. Also, very well thought out. Vera really cares about her guests. We would strongly recommend a visit to Hacienda Orosi Hot Springs. It is really a stunning facility. We toured the barn with all the animals and we walked the 5K‘s on the mountain to see the coffee exhibits and then enjoyed early evening in the hot tub. Definitely worth it. It is very well kept.

It is an amazing place. It has its own atmosphere, with a nice open kitchen and suggestions on hiking tours in the Orosi Valley. If I am around here again I would definitely come back!

Even though there is a shared kitchen and common space, it felt private and none of us needed to use the kitchen at the same time. People were respectful of our items in the refrigerator and cleaned up after themselves. I was surprised I slept so well, because I usually don’t on vacation.

Lovely location with an incredible view. Our host Ury was outstanding and did everything possible to make sure we were comfortable. He has built this chalet with much TLC and it was obvious. Unfortunately, it rained in the afternoons so we didn’t get as much chance to explore and look for birds as we wanted, but nature does what nature does. We loved that it was high above Orosí and in a fascinating area. The history of the coffee and sugar cane growers was fascinating. There is much to discover around Orosí and its lovely that’s off the usual tourist path. We loved the Irazú Volcano and Ujarras Ruins (tons of birds and it’s free). We missed other sites due to lack of time and rain, but Ury can advise.

This place was absolutely breathtaking!! We went for my fiancés birthday! We could not have picked a more beautiful place to celebrate!! The coffee plants were not only on the property, so we could see them up close and personal, but also served with our delicious complimentary breakfast! Delicious, freshly roasted Costa Rican coffee! I can not recommend this place enough…. Everything, including the bathrooms were beautiful!

The hotsprings were fenomenal and the restaurant and the food was exellent. We enjoyed the hike and seeing the animals at the farm. We also enjoyed seeing all the coffee plants all around us and actual people working picking the coffee beans. It was a very nice touch to get the sweet treats in our room. The villas are absolutly beautiful and very clean and so unique with all the nice features in every corner you look at with handles made out of coffe tea pots and coffee tin mugs and kettle for the sink. The pine features surrounding the crownmolding and baseboards and sutters matching the furniture was very beautiful!! Very beautiful place and the nature and flowers all around abolutely amazing and the views from all hotsprings outstanding and breathtaken! A must see place!! We will definetly be back and will bring more people there. Access was easy no 4 wheel drive needed.

Loved 😍 the scenery, the brids singing the sound of the river hitting the rocks, the relaxing thermal pool, the staff at the place, the restaurant, the trails all around the facilities, just a great experience for the family or couples. There is no tv in the room or anywhere, just a place to relax.

    Great place to stay outside of San Jose if you have a few days. There is a nice diversity of things to see, all in a loop if you want to. A number of national parks for hiking and sights (Tapani and both parts of Irazu Volcano - Crater Sector & Prussia. Note that the two Irazu sectors are over 10 miles apart and very different. Crater is basically just that and $15 plus they don't tell you it's $5 more to park when you get there. The crater is empty of water, and has been for many years, don't believe the photos, they're old. The hiking in Prussia sector was superb! Additionally, the Orosi Mirador is nice (free), the oldest church in Costa Rica (Ruins - Free), crafts, and the Lankaster Gardens were beautiful. Lots of options for food in Orosi itself.

    A peaceful spot in the mountains.

    A peaceful spot in the mountains. It’s a working farm with very friendly owners. We went horseback riding in the trails and enjoyed the home cooked meals. The perfect place to get away and relax with a book or a friend or a bottle of wine or all of the above. The last few km of the road on the ride up is unpaved, rocky and uphill — drive slowly and you will get there!

    A small, compact, friendly village in a picturesque valley with easy access to a lovely national park (Tapanti) with its own river. It has it's own public pool and hot springs run by a local hotel. Some good restaurant choices available. Easy access to other areas (Paraiso, Cartago, volcanoes)

    Orosi is a very, very small town and easy to walk around.

    Orosi is a very, very small town and easy to walk around. There are a selection of restaurants in town and several within a kilometer near too . I met the most wonderful and professional dentist that tended to my problem. I'll plan on going back to visit Orosi specifically to see her, Dr, Alejandra whose office was across the street from a restaurant called Luna & Sol. I am religious and seeing the historic San Jose Church . I do find it foolish that money was wasted to build the type of new church next door to the old. Tho being a Roman Catholic, I see the waste of money the church spends. We hiked Tapanti Park and discovered on that particular day it was free admission. Unfortunately I can not recall the name of restaurant we had dinner at. The food was fine and the service excellent. It was East of elementary school, down the street. Outside of Orosi is a beautiful Mirador Park that closes at 4 PM. The is also a mirador outside the park along the road with scenic views of Orosi and other small towns.

    The drive to the accommodation is very steep once you drive...

    The drive to the accommodation is very steep once you drive through Orosi. The taxi drive was not please because it is not a made up road. But it is worth it for the spectacular views you get at the top. You do need transport once you are at the villa unless you plan to spend your time walking the wonderful land they have. It was awesome.

    Orosi is one of my favorite places in the Central Valley.

    Orosi is one of my favorite places in the Central Valley. It has a bit for everyone. There are plenty of nature activities and relaxing ones too. I personally like the hot springs in the area. The town center is also very nice with its old church, which is worth a visit.
