Beautiful city, some lovely places to visit...but I found it over-run with tourists, which made it very busy! We did some of the normal historical sites, but also did the National Gallery instead of the National Museum and I can highly recommend it. We loved the wonderful restaurants and coffee shops. All the main attractions were walking distance of the hotel - even walked to the cemetery where the composers Dvorak and Smetana were buried (2.3 miles from the hotel ). I got the main sights of interest to me.
I got the main sights of interest to me. Certainly there is more to see were I to have stayed another day or two. But the old architecture, the cathedral and old castles area, Old Town, the National Museum are incredible. A Catholic would be more interested in the so-called Child of Prague. We loved it, could have done with another day or two. We were there for 2 nights/3 days. We walked and walked and walked. Would recommend a guided walking tour as we didn't do that and I regret it. Also, at the castle, once you climb all the steps, I would recommend a guided tour, either audio or in person. We didn't do that and feel we missed a lot of the history and information so we have to go back to do the castle again next time! Lovely city, very pleasant to walk around. Food and drink prices vary so head for the side streets!! Our first lunch for 4 people with a drink was €60 and the next day it was €120! Uber to the Castle & Lenon Wall is cheap. It a good choice in summer afternoons. Go Sedlec Ossuary & St Barbara church is excellent for one day trip. You will never forget for sure.
