The hotel is perfect for resting from a big city. It might not be very easy to get to the village without a car, but as soon as you figure out how buses work, it’s perfect. The village is surrounded by fields, forests and mountains, it’s very close to famous places and wonderful hiking routes. The living conditions are very comfortable too. The breakfast was amazing! I would definitely choose it for my next visit!

I can't say good enough things about this place. Lovely location, looks straight out of a movie. Super comfortable room and bed, with the cutest balcony. You open the window and hear the water in the stream. The sauna was great. The dinner and breakfast are a 7-minute walk away which is overall lovely (it was a little annoying at night in the dark because I wasn't sure of the way and ended up walking on the road, but you can actually go near the river and it's a much nicer walk). Reception staff were so so nice and helpful, restaurant staff as well. My only complaint is that I should have stayed longer!! I've seen this mentioned but I'll reiterate - breakfast is amazing. So many choices for tea, nutriblenders to make smoothies, oat and almond milk, I was super impressed. I wish there were some croissants but that's a personal preference - there were tons of other bread and cake choices. I loved the 4-course dinner as well. I plan to go back as soon as I can!

The staff were friendly, the hotel is in a beautiful village on the Elbe, Tesla charge point worked perfectly (there's also a public charger in the local parking lot). The bar and restaurant were great and breakfast was very good.

    The location is beautiful.

    The location is beautiful. However, it is absolutely unimaginable to visit it during the main tourist season in summer. The crowds there will absolutely demotivate you. You will be waiting on ladders everywhere.

    Quaint little town with cosy feel, beautiful architecture...

    Quaint little town with cosy feel, beautiful architecture and an easy access to hiking trails. Visitors centre can provide with all the equipment necessary for hiking. One thing worth minding is that all of the restaurants and bars close at 10pm so a late dinner is not an option (at least in early September)

    Bad Schandea lovely area for older couples or young couples...

    Bad Schandea lovely area for older couples or young couples interested in walking, cycling or running as great paths alongside the river, transport free to surrounding villages with varied options of frequent transport ie ferry, trains, tram and buses. Not much English speaking or menus available.

    Alles was vorher bewertet war. The room was great, the people were very friendly and so helpful, and the sauna/pool/spa area was super. The only disappointment was that we set up a birthday dinner table (which happened) and a birthday breakfast table (which did not happen because people took our table and moved our number).

    Lovely quiet town on the Elbe river.

    Lovely quiet town on the Elbe river. Well connected with roads, publish transport including river ferries. Plenty to do and excellent excursions fronm the town, eg hiking, mountain biking. Good indoor pool incl. wellness / spa centre. You need to book restaurants for dinner in the high season. And by 9pm its quite quiet, so not a lot of night life!

    Bad Schandau area has a lot to offer and unfortunately we...

    Bad Schandau area has a lot to offer and unfortunately we only spent one night here. I would have liked to stay another2-3 nights to do some hiking and bike riding in the area. I had a very good Thai Massage very close to the hotel. Town is pretty quiet at night with not a big selection for restaurants.

    The balcony with the river view was wonderful, as were the thermal water place. We loved that it was possible to rent bikes directly from the hotel, though it was a pity they had to be returned by 7 PM and not later. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. We also really enjoyed the live piano music in the evenings.

    Breakfast (albeit expensive) was totally excellent. I wasn't hungry until the afternoon. Location is very good for walking among the rocks. For visiting Bad Schandau, I recommend using the elevator. The room was nice, clean, we had all the comfort we needed. For the price it was great.

    The apartments are situated at a great location in the middle of Bad Schandau which is great for discovering the many gems of Saxony. The children enjoyed the plunge pool and the sauna was lovely. Breakfast was good and plentiful.
