    Very cute and picturesque town that is a bit off the beaten...

    Very cute and picturesque town that is a bit off the beaten path so it is super nice and not so many tourists (and instagram/ tic tokers) flooding the place. Food was excellent everywhere. You can walk to almost anything within the town that you want to see and it had everything you could possibly need (grocery stores, hairdressers, etc.). Felt like a tiny little, upscale community without concomitant prices.

    I came here to see a friend but I would go back just to enjoy the place. Bad Tolz is one of the prettiest, and certainly the best kept, places I have been to. The buildings in the main street are picture-perfect and there are several cafes and restaurants offering local food at very reasonable prices. The river walks are easy but there are plenty of hills if you want something more strenuous. The climb up Kalvarienberg to get to the church is well worth it for the beauty of the church itself and also for the stunning views. When you go, be prepared for all weathers as there can be storms in the evenings so take a brolly. Also take a rubber ring so that you can jump in the crystal clear river and float all the way to Munich. It's a thing.

    We enjoyed a 2 night stop off on route back to Munich. Bad Tolz was ideal as it has an attractive old town, river side location, lots of walking/cycling routes in addition to local run events ( music & night market)

    Bad Tölz is amazing, such Old World charm, such details and picturesque buildings, lovely views. The bakeries are amazing. Above all, it is so relaxing, so soothing, silent. You can imagine people from the past centuries coming here to have a cure and take the healing waters. It is very charming and old fashioned but in a great way.

    Lovely Bavarian city with beautiful city center with restaurants, cafes, ice cream, bakeries and small shops. Wonderful for walks around or along the river Isar where you can just wade in or swim (although the water is cold). On the river bank there is the pathway for cycling or skateing and part of city with spa where you can relax. For the Czechs: in the restaurant by the church there is the cook from Moravia. Delicious meal! :)

    A lovely old market town directly on the River Isar.

    A lovely old market town directly on the River Isar. It was quiet when we were there but the Spring/Easter market was just starting and it was nice to see people coming out to explore. The architecture is stunning and the central location of the town makes it a really good choice of base for exploring the wider area. We also had some great food here!

    A lovely well kept property with good sized room & comfy beds. Breakfast was really good. Staff were friendly & helpful. Hotel doesn’t have the facilities to have your evening meal but the village centre is only 5 minutes walk away with plenty of options available. We went to Rocco’s & had great pizzas
