    I had been to Berchtesgaden twice prior, but it is still a lovely place to just wander and enjoy the ambiance. It is close to the Salt Mine, Eagle's Nest and the Konig See. No photos allowed in the Salt Mine.

    A beautiful area but you do need to be fortunate with the weather to appreciate it. If you are visiting Obersalzburgh and the Kehlestein, make sure it is fine before booking, or just hope you are lucky.

    We stayed in Berchtesgaden for 3 full days.

    We stayed in Berchtesgaden for 3 full days. It's right in the Bavarian Alps so the views are incredible. Berchtesgaden is a beautiful little town, as are most of the other small towns in Germany and Austria, where our trip took us. You can go to the Konigssee, do a boat tour, hike to the largest waterfall in Germany, or head over to Salzburg, which is only a 15-20 minute drive. Great area to check out!

    great hiking. Cute town. Eagles nest is a must see...especially the amazing views and the documentation center. The hstory is very interesting. It rained one day and we did a fun salt mine tour as well. Cute city to walk around. Kings lake is beautiful and the hikes there are great as well.

    Obersalzberg is where we visited.

    Obersalzberg is where we visited. The Eagles Nest is a quick visit as it’s just a restaurant and once you’ve seen the view there’s not a lot else. Get there early - it’s a zoo by 11:00am! Best bits were the lift and bus journey. Allow plenty of time for the documentation centre.

    A beautiful town with amazing mountain views and plenty to do. The guest card gives reductions on a number of attractions and free public transport in the area. Recommended - the Salzberg salt mine, Watzmanntherme (spa), Salzburg day trip, the Obersalzberg documentation centre and Eagle's Nest, Königssee boat trip (and swimming), Hintersee. There are places to eat next to the hotel, but also in the town centre (about 10-15 minutes on foot or free on the bus).

    I have been assigned a wonderful, very comfortable room with a view from the balcony that was just amazing )) That alone would be worth it. The hotel itself is very centrally located, with parking nearby. All the staff were very nice, friendly and helpful. The selection for breakfast was awesome. In short, if you are looking for a place to stay in Berchtesgaden - look no further ))

    The hotel had wonderful views over the mountains, and was nice and quiet. Conveniently located in the centre of Berchtesgaden with an easy walk down to the lower level where trains/buses are located for trips to Eagles Nest and Konigsee. Breakfast included in the price

    Had a wonderful stay at Hotel Grünberger. The staff was friendly, kind and helpful. The accommodation was lovely and comfortable for the cold winter. The hotel served hot drinks and cookies in their living room which was a lovely end to each day. Totally recommended!

    Nice hotel well located, close to the old town of Berchtesgaden (although uphill from the hotel). Easy to get everywhere from the hotel and useful parking in the back. The staff were welcoming and east to deal with.
