Berlin is a city that ticks a lot of boxes.

Berlin is a city that ticks a lot of boxes. Really interesting from a historical point of view, great transport, good for shopping and plenty of restaurants. Also, prices are not too high, certainly cheaper than Dublin! Lots of beautiful parks. Also, take a trip to Potsdam and Wansee, a short, easy journey from Berlin.

Berlin s easy to get around on public transportation.

Berlin s easy to get around on public transportation. I highly recommend a walking tour with a guide when you first arrive. We saw all of the major highlights in the 3 hour tour. Much of the city is oversized and spacious which I didn't expect. The city looks like it is in constant rebuilding mode. We ended up being there during the 2025 Berlin Marathon so there were crowds everywhere. It still didn't hamper our experience though. We were planning on joining the Hop On Hop Off Bus, but the day we wanted to do it was Sunday - Marathon day - and the buses were not running. We did take a river cruise which was enjoyable. If I return - I will add in a day to visit Potsdam at the very least. I recommend no less than 4 days to visit the city. 5-6 would allow for a quick day to Potsdam and maybe some other attractions outside of central city.

I was there for the marathon but also did some sightseeing. Worth taking a free walking tour (donation at the end) to understand the history of the city. Good restaurants and excellent public transport.

It is a very accesible city, well connected with plenty of monuments at the open air and many many museums and historical corners. It is worth the visit and the reflection during and after the visit on how a city and their population can change over time (and how fast). Plenty of options in food, activities and ways to visit. Adaptable to many budgets IMO

The hotel was only a few stops by the S Bahn from Mitte Berlin and everything you’d want to visit. The staff everywhere in the hotel were welcoming and friendly. The room was very clean, spacious and beautifully presented . The bed was comfortable and it was so quiet at night with NO external noise. I would highly recommend this exceptional hotel. I also need to say that the restaurant attached to the hotel was outstanding and we ate there 3 out of our 4 night stay . 5 stars !

The location is perfect for exploring the city centre of Berlin. You can easily walk to the Gouvernement District on the Spree in one direction and in the opposite direction to Alexanderplatz. The staff of the hotel gave a good service.

The best -by far- breakfast I've tasted in a hotel, anywhere, in my life. The staff, all the people, were remarkably polite. And the neighbourhood, Mitte, is one of Berlin's most beautiful.
