Medieval History and Charming Architecture
With 1,200 years of history, Bremen is a lovely city located in northwest Germany. Once part of the Hanseatic League, it hosts one of the world’s oldest fairground festivals, the Freimarkt, since 1066!
Most of historical buildings can be found around the central Marktplatz. Dominated by the town hall, holding the Bremen Ratskeller – a council wine cellar with a collection of over 600 German wines, the Marktplatz features the statues of Roland, the city’s legendary protector, and the Town Musicians, animals from the Grimm Brothers’ tales.
From there, you can stroll towards the Schnoor, the city’s oldest quarter with narrow, cobbled streets, half-timbered houses and supposedly the world’s smallest hotel offering just one room! One of the city’s major attractions, Böttcherstraße, a street famous for its expressionist architecture, is also close by.
Walk down the Schlachte, which used to be a harbour and now is an important riverside boulevard with plenty of bars and pubs, where you can sit down and enjoy the beer from the local Beck’s Brewery.
Bremen Airport is just a short tram ride from the Old Town and with the help of Booking.com, you can find many hotels near the airport or the city centre.

Bremen is such a lively, historically interesting city. From the river and it's busy maritime activity to the cool, green spaces of its many parks there is so much to enjoy. Touring the Mercedes Benz factory or visiting the outstanding Emigration Museum in Bremerhaven or taking a tour of the mediaeval Town Hall. Bremen is quite small with a few attractions.
Bremen is quite small with a few attractions. It's easy to visit everything in a day. Apart from the old town, Bremen seems to be quite rough though so you wouldn't want to linger. Good point is that it's just a couple of hours from Hamburg and Cuxhaven, which can be visited as day trips. Bremen is a good weekend hangout place.
Bremen is a good weekend hangout place. Obviously, depends on the company you are with, the weather, and the place you chose to spend your nights in. I would strongly recommend Parkhotel Bremen as it gives you that exact mix of pleasant stay in a great location, amazing Spa facilities and, if you are at all into smoking cigars, a very nice Cigar Lounge.Guest review byAlexanderLatvia - 10.0

We felt completely at home...wonderful City for doing walks & enjoying the vast array of awesome buildings, parks & different museums. Everyday was a new thrilling experience for us which we embraced totally. The restaurants are excellent along with the other small bars & cafés. At night the "light boxes" have large displays on the front of the older buildings in the centre of town which was so amazing! Getting around is simple as there is the most wonderful tram system. Bremen is a lovely place. Very quaint. Decaf coffee originated here (I didn't know that!!). Its a good place to explore and also close to Hamburg if you fancy a day trip. Everywhere is very clean. If going of a weekend, I would recommend booking somewhere for lunch / dinner as it got very busy.Guest review byTeresa

The tram number 6 from and to the airport stops just next to the front door. We were at the 6th floor and had a nice view onto the park and the roofs of the old city. Rooms and hotel was very quiet even it was busy. The staff is very nice and professional. The spa is spacious and clean.
