The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. A very cozy house and exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated. Friendly hosts greeted me. The area was quiet and I could relax.

Really friendly and accommodating owner, when you walk in communal area it's like local museum with bit of recent history. I believe that Pension Zur Kutscherstube is suitable gore small group of friends are family. Breakfast was generous too.

Very relaxing location. Rooms are spacious. Kitchen is fully equipped. The terrace has plenty of space to read, eat, talk, or relax. Internet connection worked sufficiently well to stay in touch with the rest of the world.

Very good value for money. Lovely garden and sitting area - wish we had time to take advantage of that! Comfortable beds. Ground coffee and selection of complementary tea available. Nice bathroom - shower with good pressure, no issues with temperature. Very generous 11.30 checkout - if we could we would stay for Al fresco breakfast! I see myself staying for 2-3 days here

We went especially to see Colditz Castle.

We went especially to see Colditz Castle. This visit exceeded our expectations. The Histopads really bring the tour to life. Book early if you want a guided tour. Allow at least have a day to fully experience the wealth of history.

This was a brilliant stay.

This was a brilliant stay. The tour of the castle was excellent and the museum interesting. I ate at two restaurants, a Greek one and a traditional German one. They were both delicious meals and the staff were very friendly and helpful. My German is very limited but we managed to communicate. Colditz is tricky to reach by public transport but the buses and trains were all on time.

If you know "The Colditz Story" you will really enjoy this...

If you know "The Colditz Story" you will really enjoy this place. If you don't I suggest you read one of the historical colditz books about the WW2 escapes as then you will get more out of it. Steffi is a wonderful guide, its well worth getting a guided tour, you will much more of the castle..
