Cuxhaven is a lovely beach town if one wants to stroll and relax. There are just so many walking and hiking trails along the coast and in wildlife parks throughout the area. the city itself is really pretty with lovely roads, beautiful homes, clean neighborhoods and a very delightful city center. the Kugel bake, Alte Liebe, Dicke Berta, Duhnen Strand, Schloss Ritzebüttel were really pleasant to visit. Food and views at the Beach House were just fantastic!

I recommend it to All, but of course it depends what you want to do or what you are interested. I love hiking/tracking and doing sports. If someone loves just lying on the beach it may not be perfect or not perfect in this time of the year. I am saying it must be visited at once.

We were here in Winter and I am curious if we could swim in the sea in Summer; I doubt it. But the beach is great, and there are wonderful eateries in the vicinity. But the beach is about 5 km from the center; the city itself is very nice and cosy, with architecture resembling Denmark, which is understandable.

If you want to look at seals there are at least 3 boats. Otherwise Cuxhaven is nothing special but does have free parking near a large Church where there is sometimes a market. Area is a little rundown with a number of empty shops. Ok plain fish restaurant near harbour huis Dierk.

I last visited Cuxhaven thirty years ago.

I last visited Cuxhaven thirty years ago. The resorts of Duhnen/Döse/Sahlenburg have changed appreciably since then, from mundane seaside resorts to a modern up-market holiday experience. Unfortunately the prices have also taken off. Nevertheless, the town's location at the junction of the Elbe river and the astounding Wadden Sea never fails to impress. Plenty to see and do in town and country, try a nine-mile hike over the mud flats at low tide to Neuwerk island. For Brits an almost unknown corner of Germany, all the more rewarding to discover for yourself.

Döse has a lovely clean beach with lots of beach baskets one can hire. The Wadden Sea is great to explore for adults and children alike. Tours are available too. If you take your bikes, even better, as a way of getting around the area. There are places to hire bikes too. Cuxhaven itself has lots of restaurants and shops and is nice for a stroll for a few hours. The location is ideal, Bremen, Bremerhaven, Hamburg are all within reach. A day trip to Helgoland is a nice to do.

A quite ordinare hotel outside Cuxhaven. But the owners were so lovely and made us feel so welcome. Nice quiet rooms, comfortable beds. The breakfast were wonderful with lots of choices. We had a delicious dinner at the hotel, and sat in their garden. Wonderful :)

The place is in a verry quiet area close to the beach. All that you need for a family stay is there. Well-equipped. And when the night got cold, cozy warmth spread through the apartment. I am a passionate walker and much enjoyed the 10 min walk to the bakery.

Is really near the beach, no need to use a car. Forest is really big and perfect for walks with the dog. The person responsible was over his away and gave us really good tips of where to go and what to do but all outside the town. We really appreciate that.

The property has been renovated since my last visit. My room appeared to have never been used before. The breakfast was better than I have experienced in supposed 5 star hotels.
