Wandering around the old town was wonderful and the quaintness of the streets, houses on bridge, and beautiful river and park was lovely and very relaxing. A must visit is the basilica and a walk around the hilltop for views over town. Easy to get around by foot because it's small. Erfurt is a beautiful medieval city with lots to see and do, great walks around the city, delicious food, artisan chocolate, atmospheric, beautiful evenings. Over the years the city has been dramatically and beautifully renovated. Historical sites and churches are generally accessible (after 10:00/11:00 am) and well taken care of. The Erfurt Old City is remarkably easy and fun to explore on foot.
