First of all the city is well placed for DB stations and can get to Koln in 20 minutes or so. For food, there is a good place to eat near the Frechen BF with great steaks and beer. The city si very quiet and very close to Phantasialand ~20m, 1h to Toverland and 1.5h to Efteling. You can find anything you want and need, Aldi, Lidl etc. and also a small shopping mall for the ladies.
