I came to Halberstadt on a Thursday, arriving in the evening...
I came to Halberstadt on a Thursday, arriving in the evening, and left the next morning, staying at Hotel Sankt Florian near the Domplatz. That part of town was about dead at 8:30 PM when I checked in. Thank goodness, I picked up some chop suey at a China-Thai Imbiss on Magdeburg Strasse while walking to the hotel from the Bahnhof. The Domplatz and churches were lovely that evening. The next morning, two of the three major churches never opened, and I skipped the Cathedral because they wanted money to enter. I don't pay to enter houses of God. On the way back to the Bahnhof, I located the Tourist Information office and found it well and willingly tended. I walked to the Bahnhof, just to kill time before my train departed, although the Number 1 tram was easily available. I had a pleasant time in Halberstadt, saw enough of it to remember, but have no reason to return.Guest review byWilliamUnited States

My room (the double with balcony) was great - nice decor, quite cosy, and with everything I needed. Check-in was easy and the staff were helpful. When I discovered that the kettle in the room wasn't working, they replaced it for me while I was out, with no fuss.
