    We could have stayed in Heidenheim a *little* (not "much")...

    We could have stayed in Heidenheim a *little* (not "much") longer, to see the Roman museum, for example. The reason for the visit was a performance of Tannhäuser at the summer Opernfestpiele. It was very high quality, even though moved at short notice (actually, without any on-site notice at all) from the picturesque outdoor ruined-castle setting to a nearby conference centre. This actually benefited it in terms of acoustics.

    We booked 2 double rooms and requested them to be adjoining, and it was perfect; 1 single room and one double room with sofa bed for us as a family of 4! Great breakfast buffet and the best part was the neighboring aquarena, a pool with slides, outside massage and bubblepools, reached by private underground tunnel directly from the hotel. All in all a great relaxing stopover between Italy and Sweden for our whole family

    lovely warm modern hotel, staff wet above and beyond on check in - a miscommunication about check in time but the lady on the reception on the Sunday afternoon was brilliant and came to check me in early. Lovely friendly helpful staff.
